Today, MSL was touched by a beautiful gesture from Fern and Suzie, the daughters of the late Mary Jane Gaalswyk. In honor of their mother who was known for her warm heart and the endearing phrase, “I love you a bushel and a peck,” and her love for the Dairy Queen Fern and Suzie generously gifted 100 Dairy Queen gift cards to our staff.
Each card is attached to a wooden heart engraved with Mary Jane’s beloved quote and the love and gratitude they shared with us are truly special. Fern and Suzie expressed their desire for each staff member to receive one token of appreciation for the care and kindness their mom received over the years.

We we were fortunate to to have Ben here recently at MSL (assisted by his mom Kay) to visit with us about the Leader Dog Program for the blind. Ben and his wife volunteer for this non profit organization that provides dog guides to visually impaired individuals. They have the dog in their home for about one year. They teach basic obedience, house manners and social skills.
The residents certainly enjoyed the dogs and being able to talk and pet them!🐕‍🦺
