Heritage Valley Kennedy School of Nursing (HVKSON) and Heritage Valley Kennedy School of Radiography (HVKSOR) are long-standing institutions which aim to provide a quality education to those interested nursing or radiology careers. HVKSON provides a 20-month RN diploma program, which is fully accredited by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing and by the Accreditation Commission for Education in

Nursing. Our program is also approved by the Department of Education. Over the last 110 years we have proudly built a reputation for providing our graduates with a high level of training, one which prepares them to successfully enter the nursing field. HVKSOR is a 24-month program. Students who successfully complete the program are awarded a certificate in Radiologic Technology. They also receive an Associate Degree in Health Science with a concentration in Radiologic Technology from La Roche College. Our graduates are then eligible to take the national certification examination, which is administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, to become Registered Radiologic Technologists. Our school recently celebrated the anniversary of its 50th graduating class.

Sessions begin every 15 minutes, and you will be able to take a tour, hear from our Director, Admissions Specialist, Financial Aid Coordinator, Faculty, Students and more! In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, students from Heritage Valley Health System’s School of Nursing and School of Radiography delivered hand-written notes of encouragement and pink chocolate-covered pretzels to local breast cancer patients during October. Students from the schools also donated and purchased items that were sent to aid families in North Carolina who were affected by Hurricane Helene.

Congratulations to our School of Radiography Students!

Heritage Valley is proud to partner with LaRoche University for our 24-month Radiologic Technology Program. This successful program celebrated its 59th commencement on August 1, and we offer congratulations to all of the new graduates! Upon graduation, each student is granted both a Certificate in Radiologic Technology from the Heritage Valley School of Radiography and an Associate Degree in Science with a concentration in Radiologic Technology from LaRoche University.

Each semester, as part of their community health education, the HVHS School of Nursing faculty arranges for the students to present community education. This summer, on Thursday 7-25, nursing students participated in the McKees Rocks Community Resource Fair coordinated by the Allegheny County Housing Authority. Students presented community health prevention education on subjects such as: heart disease prevention, mental health awareness, healthy eating, hygiene, and internet safety.
