Heritage Valley Kennedy School of Nursing (HVKSON) and Heritage Valley Kennedy School of Radiography (HVKSOR) are long-standing institutions which aim to provide a quality education to those interested nursing or radiology careers. HVKSON provides a 20-month RN diploma program, which is fully accredited by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing and by the Accreditation Commission for Education in

Nursing. Our program is also approved by the Department of Education. Over the last 110 years we have proudly built a reputation for providing our graduates with a high level of training, one which prepares them to successfully enter the nursing field. HVKSOR is a 24-month program. Students who successfully complete the program are awarded a certificate in Radiologic Technology. They also receive an Associate Degree in Health Science with a concentration in Radiologic Technology from La Roche College. Our graduates are then eligible to take the national certification examination, which is administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, to become Registered Radiologic Technologists. Our school recently celebrated the anniversary of its 50th graduating class.

This one-day NCLEX Prep course is designed to provide participants with the tools necessary to achieve first time success on the NCLEX exam. The course will provide an overview of the NCLEX examination including purpose, test blueprint/categories and types of questions, preparation techniques including cognitive and behavioral techniques to reduce anxiety and increase critical thinking/clinical judgement, and practice questions.

The Heritage Valley Health System School of Nursing is thrilled to announce that we’ve been accepted onto the Bodyswaps & Meta Healthcare Education grant for our Summer courses.

Thanks to this grant, we’ll be exploring how AI & VR powered immersive learning can be embedded into our curriculum to empower our students’ soft skills development.

HVHS SON Senior Student Spotlight: Steven Lengyel

Steven has wanted to help people since he was a kid and found his calling when an adult leader in his Cub Scout pack broke his leg and he immediately jumped in and splinted his leg. In 2010, he became an EMT and joined the Navy in 2012. He worked in a primary care clinic, a hospital, and with the 2nd Marine Division. He has also been a member of the Forest Grove Volunteer Fire Department since he was in high school. Following nursing school, he hopes to get a job in an Emergency Department, become a PHRN, and ultimately, an acute care nurse practitioner.
