National Gingerbread Day caught my residents chasing Gingy around through a story book tale. The resident to be holding Gingy at the end was Lonnelle McMillin who won this seasonal plaque donated by Touching Hearts.

Many residents completed in our roll a turkey dice game but Julie Garner took away the Thanksgiving Basket with leaving only 1 space uncovered. Thai Saul and Robbie Adam’s were our runners up.

We honored our Lakeside Veterans this Veterans Day 🇺🇸 Thank you for your service Elbert Hatley, Harry Walsh and Chris Thomas! Thank you to Sheila Willis for our program and Kersten Hendrix for honoring our Flag through music. We also honored our Veteran spouses❤️

A big Thank You to Evan’s Clinic for sponsoring An Afternoon Tea with Mark Twain. Mark Twain portrayed by Gus Radford welcomed us to the circus as he shared stories from the wise and witty man dressed in white. They served cookies, cupcakes, pretzels with tea and lemonade.

Lakeside residents joined a group at the Hometown Clinic Monday Breakfast Club and the activity this week was putting together food boxes for those in need. Last week we put together bags for CPS who are helping teenagers who are unable to be in their homes. There is no better medicine than helping others and our residents were happy to be of service. Next week they will have a speaker who will be talking about nutrition and its effects on diabetes, heart disease and high cholesterol. If you are interested you can join us there for breakfast, coffee, socialization and whatever program they are presenting that week. It starts at 9:00.

We had a fun game of musical traveling pumpkins and for the grand prize the winner, Cornelia Pugh won this beautiful fall wreath donated by Lisa Ellis. 16 residents played so we had 1 happy winner and 15 jealous ones, lol. Those 15 got a bag of snacks so everyone was a winner in the end.
