"It is a common belief that we breathe with our lungs alone, but in point of fact, the work of breathing is done by the whole body. The lungs play but a passive role in the respiratory process. Their expansion is produced by an enlargement, mostly downward, of the thoracic cavity and they collapse when that cavity is reduced. Proper breathing involves the muscles of the head, neck, thorax, and abdomen.
Breathing is a rhythmic activity. Normally a person at rest makes approximately 16 to 17 respiratory incursions a minute. The rate is higher in πΆ infants and in states of excitation. It is lower in sleep and in depressed persons. The depth of the respiratory wave is another factor which varies with emotional states. Breathing becomes shallow when we are frightened or anxious. It deepens with relaxation, pleasure and ποΈsleep. But above all, it is the quality of the respiratory movements that determines whether breathing is pleasurable or not.
In all Oriental and mystic philosophies, the breath π€ holds the secret to the highest bliss. That is why breathing is the dominant factor in the practice of Yoga.β

Normally try to hit a certain number of double jumps as a warm up. My goal this session was 50.
I kept falling just short, I hit sets of 34, 47, and 44 before finally getting all the way through. Had to look in the camera and put that pressure on myself.π―

See the problem is... most of y'all just see the body. The muscles, the abs, and the fancy displays of strength and or balance.
You don't see the sweat π¦ stinging me as its dripping in my eyes, you don't feel the hot sunβοΈ on my skin, you don't see the hours spent alone at the park or at the gym, you don't see the nine sets of ten I did before I decided to record myself. You dont hear me asking myself why the hell am i doing this right now. You don't see the 5:00 am training sessions as a 17 year old in highschool. You don't see me getting up everyday at 4:30π today. You don't see the time I spend preparing meals for myself (Not all the time at least ππππ₯) You dont see someone who has been working out for tenπ years of his short but beautiful life. You also don't see the pain that pushes me to keep doing all those things for all this time. All you see is someone with a nice body on the #strippergram. and you double tap. secretly wishing you could either do more or look better.
Before you get to telling yourself you wish you could do this or you wish you could look like that. ask yourself. do you REALLY?! and if NOT learn to love an accept yourself regardless. I happen to like being a crazy person. Do what works for you. You have no idea what the next person has been through to get where they are
