🎄🔔❄️Did you know heart attacks spike during the holiday season?
The most common day for a cardiac event is Christmas Day, followed by the day after Christmas, and then New Years Day.
Stress, rich meals, cold weather, travel, and disrupted routines all put extra strain on the heart — often when families are gathered together.
The good news? There are simple ways to help protect your heart (and your loved ones’) this season:
✨ Manage stress: Take breaks, breathe deeply, and don’t overload your schedule.
🍽️ Watch holiday indulgences: Enjoy the treats — but be mindful of portions, salt, and alcohol.
❄️ Stay warm: Cold temps make your heart work harder. Dress in layers when outside.
🚶 Keep moving: A short walk after meals helps reduce strain and keeps your heart happy.
💊 Don’t skip medications: Travel and busy days make it easy to forget — set reminders.
❤️ Know the signs: Chest pressure, shortness of breath, nausea, jaw or arm pain — call 911 immediately.
🫀 Learn CPR: Most cardiac arrests happen at home. Knowing CPR can double or triple someone’s chance of survival. Obviously, Restart the Heart CPR can help with this!
This season is about caring for one another — and few gifts are as meaningful as protecting the hearts we love. Stay safe, stay aware, and take care of yourself this holiday. 💓
