Guilt tells you that you can’t possibly stop when so many people need you and there’s so much to do. Guilt can also keep you trapped in a cycle of anxiety by pushing you to run harder and faster. If you are struggling with anxiety, you might try several different things to help calm yourself down. But sometimes, certain techniques, like telling yourself you are calm, only makes it worse. So, the first thing to do when you feel the anxiety coming on is BREATHE! Breathing deeply sends a calming signal to your brain to tell it that everything is OK! Drop a thumbs up if you’ve tried deep breathing to help feel calm!
