Counseling doesn’t always start with a crisis.
Sometimes it begins with a question, a pause, or the feeling that it’s time for something to shift.
This month, we’re honoring the work of counselors—and the quiet courage it takes to show up.

Honoring Women & Mental Health on International Women’s Day

Today, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and achievements of women everywhere. But we also recognize the unseen battles many women face—balancing responsibilities, overcoming societal pressures, and navigating mental health challenges.

Women are often expected to be everything for everyone, yet their own well-being can be overlooked. On this International Women’s Day, let’s not only celebrate women’s contributions but also advocate for their mental health. Let’s encourage rest without guilt, support without stigma, and spaces where women can heal, grow, and thrive.

To all the women carrying invisible weights—you are strong, but you don’t have to do it alone. Your mental health matters. You matter.

Today marks the beginning of a new chapter for our country, and with any change, it’s natural to experience a mix of emotions—hope, uncertainty, fear, or even excitement.

As Martin Luther King Jr. said, “We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.”

If you’re feeling overwhelmed or anxious about the future, here are a few ways to cope today:

•Take a break from the news and focus on activities that bring you joy.
•Connect with loved ones and share how you’re feeling.
•Practice mindfulness or grounding techniques to stay present.
•Reflect on what you can control and take small, meaningful steps forward.

Remember, you’re not alone. Change, even on a national level, can impact us deeply. At Therapy on the Square, we’re here to provide a safe space to process your feelings, manage stress, and build resilience.

Your mental health matters, no matter what the headlines say. Let’s face this together, one step at a time.
