Due to the weather⛈, the McKinney Farmers Market will be 𝐂𝐋𝐎𝐒𝐄𝐃 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟓𝐭𝐡. 🌧️ We’ll miss seeing everyone, but your favorite local farmers, artisans, and vendors will be back next Saturday, April 12th, from 8 AM to Noon—so mark your calendars! 🛍️🌿

I was inspired to share these thoughts after my little boy hugged me and told me with sincere gratitude how much he enjoyed my hastily prepared supper of processed food 😅 I fall into the trap of wanting my Instagram feed to look like other homesteaders’ with my freshly baked bread and homegrown vegetables from my garden, and the truth is that most days are just not like that. True love is just showing up, every day, the best you can. That’s all our babies really need from us. ❤️

To protect our vendors products and the safety of our farmers market, we have made the decision to cancel this Saturdays market. Chance of rain is 100% in the morning with wind gusts up to 25mph. 💨⛈️

Join us at the McKinney Farmers Market for a special visit from Donkey and Equine Haven USA in Celina! 🏡🐾 They’ll be bringing some of their rescued donkeys to meet and greet market visitors.

𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝑨𝒓𝒆 𝑫𝒐𝒏𝒌𝒆𝒚𝒔 𝑰𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝑭𝒂𝒓𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒔?
🌾 Donkeys have been trusted farm companions for generations!
They help by:
✔ Guarding livestock – protecting sheep, goats, and other animals from predators.
