I hope you’re staying safe and warm during all this snow! I know travel can be tricky in these conditions, so I wanted to let you know that we currently have several openings over the next two weeks. If you’ve been meaning to schedule, now’s a great time to grab a convenient spot.

And, in the meantime, stay warm and please try not to break your back breaking up any ice trapping your car in. While my business account might like that, I certainly don't!

I also want to ask a small favor. If you haven’t left a review for us yet, would you consider doing so? [Click HERE (https://g.page/r/CXokyBXnkOrXEAE/review) ] Honest reviews are truly the #1 way to help our practice grow and connect with more people who can benefit from acupuncture.

To be completely transparent: this past year has been challenging for small businesses like mine. Many of our patients have faced job losses, moved away, or been affected by rising costs and insurance changes. Expenses continue to increase, but I’m doing my best to keep acupuncture affordable while maintaining the quality care you expect. Your support, whether through appointments or sharing your experience online, makes a real difference.

And when it comes to sharing your experience, I am happy to hear whatever suggestions or thoughts you have. Please do not shy away from any questions or concerns you may have. I strive to continue to evolve as a practitioner and want to provide both comfort and effectiveness to my patients and their health.

Thank you for being part of our community. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Warm regards,
Dr. Sarah

In order to minimize any potential anxiety regarding weather, work and/or school closures as well as road conditions, we have decided to go ahead and close the clinic on Monday, January 26th.

We are currently still open for Tuesday, January 27th; however, that may change depending on the condition of the roads come midday Monday.

With that said, we do have limited availability remaining for the rest of the week.

For Thursday, January, 29th we have times from 8:00am until 1:30pm, which will be our latest availability for next week (if we are not open on Tuesday).

For Friday, January 30th we only have 9:30 and 12:45. The 9:30 will need to be booked through the front desk.

For Saturday, January 31st we only have 8:30, 9 and 12:00. The 12:00 will need to be booked through the front desk as well.

Please make sure that, when booking, you choose the appropriate appointment: acupuncture (just includes acupuncture) or the acupuncture + manual therapy (if you would like a few minutes of cupping, gua sha, ah shi needling, etc. in addition to acupuncture).

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out. We will be in until 2:00pm today, Saturday, January 24th.

Best,
Dr. Sarah

With the possibility of snow this weekend — and school or office closures — we wanted to offer a gentle reframe.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, winter is the season of yin: slowing down, conserving energy, and restoring what’s been depleted. Nature rests now — and so should we. We are still in winter, after all!

Interestingly, modern science echoes this wisdom. Research suggests that there are **seven different types of rest** our bodies and minds need to stay healthy — and many of them don’t involve sleep at all.

If you find yourself snowed in, here are a few *productive* ways to honor winter and give your body what it truly needs:

💤 Physical Rest

This includes both sleep and gentle restoration.
* Sleep in if you can
* Stretch lightly, do gentle yoga, or simply lie on the floor with your legs up the wall
* Skip the urge to “push through” fatigue
*Winter supports deep repair — allow it.

Mental Rest

Constant thinking and decision-making is exhausting.
* Take breaks from news and social media
* Write a to-do list for later, then give yourself permission not to act on it
* Try a short meditation or even a quiet cup of tea without multitasking

🎨 Creative Rest

This is about allowing inspiration rather than producing.
* Step outside to watch the snow fall
* Read something nourishing instead of informative
* Listen to music, journal freely, or simply daydream

💗 Emotional Rest

Let yourself be honest — even if only with yourself.
* Notice where you’re holding tension or expectations
* Set boundaries around conversations or obligations
* Rest doesn’t have to look “happy” to be healing

🌿 Sensory Rest

Our nervous systems are overstimulated most of the year.
* Dim the lights, light a candle
* Reduce screen time
* Enjoy quiet, warmth, and simple meals

🌱 Spiritual / Intentional Rest

This doesn’t have to be religious.
* Reflect on what you’re conserving energy *for*
* Set intentions for the coming weeks rather than goals
* Remember: rest is not a reward — it’s a requirement

Winter asks us to slow down so we can emerge stronger.

If the snow gives you an unexpected pause, consider leaning into it. Your body may be asking for exactly this.

Stay warm, stay safe, and allow yourself to rest — deeply and without guilt.
💙

With that said, if you are worried about the snow, we do have some availability for returning patients this Friday (tomorrow) as well as Saturday, January 23rd and 24th.

Best,
Dr. Sarah

Hello everyone,

Just a quick reminder that there is not any availability for tomorrow, Saturday, January 17th or Monday, January 19th.

We will be available with a few appointments from Tuesday, January 20th onward.

Please note that with the recent addition of our **Acupuncture + Manual Therapy appointments** (for those who would like cupping, gua sha, or Ah Shi needling after acupuncture), availability is a bit more limited under the new schedule.

When booking:

You may continue to book a **standard acupuncture appointment** as usual, **or**

* If you know you will want additional hands-on work such as **cupping, gua sha, or focused Ah Shi needling,** please book the **Acupuncture + Manual Therapy** appointment to ensure adequate time.

As always, feel free to reach out if you are unsure which option is best for you.

Wishing you a restful and healthy holiday weekend.

Warmly,
Dr. Sarah

I wanted to share a small scheduling update that comes from a place of care—for both you and the quality of treatment I’m able to provide.

As the practice has grown, I’ve noticed that certain treatments—particularly cupping, gua sha, and dry needling—require more hands-on time and focus than acupuncture alone. When those therapies are added into a standard visit, it can sometimes feel rushed or create overlap with another patient, which isn’t the experience I want for anyone.

Up to now, I’ve tried to accommodate this by limiting how many patients are scheduled back-to-back so there’s extra time available when hands-on work is needed. While this has helped, I’ve realized it’s not always the most consistent or sustainable way to ensure that every treatment feels complete and unrushed.

To better support your care, I’m now offering two clearly defined appointment options:

• Acupuncture Session (45 minutes of treatment) — $95
• Acupuncture + Manual Therapy Session (60 minutes of treatment) — $110

For patients who have acupuncture insurance coverage, but who's insurance does not cover for manual therapy, there will also be a $15 out of pocket charge.

The longer session allows dedicated time for hands-on therapies without rushing or overlapping with another patient. The $15 difference simply reflects the additional treatment time and hands-on care reserved specifically for those visits.

If you know ahead of time that you’d like cupping, gua sha, or dry needling, please select the longer session when booking so I can fully plan for your care. If you’re ever unsure which option is best, I’m always happy to help guide you.

Please note that those appointments currently booked will stay as they are - no changes in price or time are necessary!

Thank you for your understanding and continued trust. My goal is to make sure every treatment feels thoughtful, complete, and supportive of your healing.

Warmly,
Dr. Sarah
