Influenza

As we navigate through the current influenza season, we want to ensure that you are well-informed and equipped with the knowledge to protect your health. Our goal is not to instill panic, but rather to foster awareness and understanding. If you haven't yet received your flu vaccine and have no contraindications, we strongly encourage you to consider it. Should you have any questions about the vaccine or your health, feel free to reach out to us at Executive MD. It's essential to be vigilant about flu symptoms, which may include high fever, cough, headaches, body aches, and nausea. If you experience any of these symptoms, please seek early treatment by contacting our clinic. Remember, medications like Tylenol and ibuprofen can help manage fever, but it’s important to ensure there are no contraindications. Additionally, antiviral medications such as Tamiflu and Xofluza are most effective when taken within the first 48 hours of symptom onset. To reduce your risk of infection, we recommend regular hand washing, wearing masks in crowded places, staying hydrated, and maintaining a balanced diet rich in vitamin C, vitamin D, and zinc. Incorporating protein shakes, yogurt, and probiotics can also bolster your immune system. Always remember that we are here for you—don’t hesitate to call your provider with any health concerns or inquiries.
