Children’s skin is more sensitive to UV damage, and just a few serious sunburns can increase their risk of skin cancer later in life.

Ensure children wear protective clothing, hats, and sunglasses when outdoors. Use child-safe sunscreen and reapply often.

Teach sun safety early—it’s a habit that can last a lifetime.

Hamilton Memorial Hospital is here to support your family's health, today and for years to come.

Take time to slow down and appreciate the little joys: an iced tea, a bird singing, a blooming flower, a favorite song. The more we tune into these little details, the more joy they bring us.

Self-Care Idea - Spend 5 minutes a day focusing fully on a pleasant moment, without distractions. Try describing it to someone, or writing about it in a journal. These practices help to bring attention to details and help us stay in the present in order to get the full effect of a positive moment.

Why it Helps - Going through the motions or rushing through your day is like flying a plane on autopilot. You get where you were going, but you don’t enjoy the ride. Slowing down and being mindful puts your thoughts, feelings and behaviors back in your control.

If you are over age 65 and have been feeling down, depressed, or hopeless, Senior Enrichment can help you improve your mood and reduce anxiety.

Join us this Saturday at 9am for Walk With a Doc, in the Hamilton County Senior High Gym!

As temperatures rise, we’re taking our movement indoors to stay cool and comfortable. Enjoy an hour of physical activity, connection, and conversation in a climate-controlled space.

Regular walking can reduce the risk of chronic conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure - and it's even better with friends. Let’s keep moving, no matter the weather.

While sunburn is the most immediate sign of UV damage, long-term exposure can have more serious consequences.

UV radiation is the leading cause of skin cancer, including melanoma, the deadliest form. It can also lead to cataracts, eye cancer, and immune system suppression.

Early protection and consistent habits can help prevent long-term harm. Prevention starts today.

Kindness isn’t just good for others, it’s good for your brain, too! Doing something nice (even small) lifts your mood and makes you feel more connected to those around you.

Try This - Try to do something small every day: call someone you haven’t talked to in a while, compliment a neighbor, pay it forward in the drive-thru, or write a kind note to a friend.

Why it Helps - Kindness towards others reduces loneliness and creates a sense of belonging. Acts of kindness also release feel-good chemicals like oxytocin, which reduces stress and helps create social bonds with others.

If you are over age 65 and feel isolated, lonely, or disconnected, Senior Enrichment can help you improve mood and reduce anxiety.
