We are so proud to have this therapist on our team!
This weeks member highlights is an honor to introduce. Our former district president Coty Keel and how he serves our patients, but is also a family man. We appreciate you Coty.
Welcome! My name is Coty Keel. I’ve been a practicing physical therapist for 8 years and have enjoyed serving in the outpatient setting throughout my career. After graduating with my Exercise Science degree from Tennessee Tech I obtained my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2018. Later in my career I returned to school and received my MBA in 2024 from WGU.
After graduation, I joined the therapy team at Tier 1 Orthopedics and Neurological Surgery Institute in Cookeville where I enjoyed honing my orthopedic skills for 4 years before returning to my hometown in McMinnville. Since then I’ve been proudly serving my hometown community at McMinnville Physical Therapy.
Outside of the clinic, I’ve had the honor of serving as the Upper Cumberland District’s District Chair from 2023-2025 and still currently serve as a Key Legislative Contact for the area.
I’ve heard it said that as physical therapists we are in a position of vocation, not an occupation, and for me this spoke volumes. As physical therapy practitioners we are in a very unique position to help people heal in what may be times of their most broken. To be a light in some pretty dark spaces. Remembering this can help us see beyond the diagnosis and provide our patients with the care that they deserve. It’s a tremendous privilege and responsibility that forms the foundation of every plan of care that I initiate.
In my free time, I love spending time outdoors with my family! Nature is our happy place. If the weather is nice, you can probably find me barefoot in the grass somewhere or getting lost in the woods.
