I have a lot of conversations about yoga. And there is always a common denominators in these conversations.
1 - I am not flexible, I wasn’t either when I started yoga and I’m still not as flexible as a lot of people I practice with. However I am so much more flexible than when I started over 10 years ago.
2 - If I had the time to workout I would do cardio or weight lifting to loose weight and get in shape. That was also me, P90x, weights, Beach Body videos. But my body kept sending me another message so I tried yoga and I’m in better shape than I’ve ever been.
3 - I don’t know the poses and everyone will be looking at me, I would look so stupid. Me too! I was so intimidated when I first started but what I realized is everyone in the room has those same thoughts, so no one is paying attention to what I’m doing they are focused on their practice and their mat.
In honor of these very consistent conversations I’m sharing a picture of a pose each week. I don’t know who came up with these but I learn something every time I look at a new one. You can do these at home and I promise you will see a difference if you are consistent.
