If you’d like to wrap yourself in a cocoon of relaxation, tap into the healing energy of a new business called Yin Yang Innergetix.
Co-owners Ara Simons and David Buchanan offer a wealth of body care options, including massage therapy, sound therapy, and reiki, a practice that uses the body’s own energy to heal.
Sound therapy is a fascinating aspect of the business. Ara has a massage table equipped with a speaker system that outputs different frequencies and vibrations. She also has a sound bowl that provides sound emersion therapy.
“The body knows what it needs to self-regulate,” said Ara. “Healing energy is a frequency and vibration that goes to the source and activates what the body needs to heal. Objective measurements have shown this affects the body in a positive way and is actual healing.”
David is a licensed massage therapist who passed his state boards and began practicing in 2022. Before that, he has a 20-year history in the physical therapy field.
David includes craniosacral therapy in his practice, which focuses on providing light pressure at different points including the head and sacrum to help the body self-correct in a gentle way.
Similarly, Ara served in healthcare as an X-ray technician before shifting to energy work full time in 2016.
“The whole body is connected to the brain and central nervous system,” said David. “When all energy systems are open and flowing, it creates harmony and balance in the body. This is a science-based approach that can be quite powerful.”
David and Ara opened Yin Yang Innergetix last month. It’s located across from Walmart and next to Homeland Community Bank at 904 N. Chancery Street, Suite 3.
Sessions can last 30 to 90 minutes.
