❄️ Frozen Shoulder? Let’s Talk About It.

If you’re dealing with pain, stiffness, or limited range of motion in your shoulder — especially if it feels worse at night — you might be experiencing adhesive capsulitis, also known as frozen shoulder.

Frozen shoulder typically happens in 3 stages:
1️⃣ Freezing – Increasing pain and decreasing movement
2️⃣ Frozen – Less pain, but very limited mobility
3️⃣ Thawing – Gradual return of movement

This can last months… sometimes longer.

✨ The good news? Massage therapy can help.
Gentle, intentional bodywork can:
• Reduce muscular guarding
• Improve circulation to the joint

Happy Monday! Let’s talk about how breathing changes muscle tension 🌬️🧠

Som people try to relax by stretching harder or asking for deeper pressure — but breathing is often the missing piece.

When you breathe shallow and fast, your nervous system stays in “go mode.” ⚡
Muscles stay guarded, especially in the neck, shoulders, jaw, and hips.

Slow, intentional breathing sends a different message:
You’re safe. You can let go. 🤍

When the breath slows:
• Muscle tone decreases 🧘‍♀️
• Fascia becomes more pliable
• Pain sensitivity drops
• The body shifts into rest + repair 🌿

This is why massage paired with guided breathing can feel deeper without more pressure — the body is participating instead of resisting.

If you ever feel like your muscles “won’t let go,” start with your breath. The body follows the nervous system.

✨ Try this: inhale through your nose for 4, exhale slowly for 6. Repeat for 1–2 minutes and notice what softens.

Grateful for the path that brought me here 🤍

I began my massage journey at Panacea Holistic Institute in Long Beach, CA in 2019, where I built a strong foundation in bodywork, presence, and truly listening to the body. I furthered my education in 2025 with additional classes at Cumberland Institute of Holistic Therapies in Nashville, TN, learning from some truly amazing, knowledgeable, and heart-centered teachers who helped deepen my practice even more. I look forward to continuing my education In massage therapy and other modalities to keep expanding my holistic practice.

And of course… let’s be honest 😄
Some of my most consistent teachers were cats.
Lessons included:
🐈‍⬛ The importance of rest
🐈 Boundaries are sacred
🐈‍⬛ Stretching is a must
🐈 Touch should always be intentional
🐈‍⬛ And if something doesn’t feel good—move away immediately

So yes, incredible schools, wonderful instructors… and a few furry mentors who really drove the lessons home.

Hi, I’m Lisa 🤍
If you’re new here, or it’s been a while, I wanted to reintroduce myself and the heart behind Realign Massage & Wellness.

I’m a licensed massage therapist and yoga instructor, and my work is rooted in one simple belief: your body deserves care that goes beyond “pushing through.”

Massage and yoga have both been powerful tools in my own journey. They taught me how deeply connected the body, breath, and nervous system really are, and how much healing can happen when we slow down and listen instead of forcing.

Through massage, I help release tension, ease pain, and support your body’s natural ability to realign and restore.
Through yoga, I guide gentle movement and breath that builds awareness, balance, and resilience from the inside out.

My why is simple but deeply personal:
I want to create a space where people feel safe to rest, soften, and reconnect with their bodies. No rushing. No pressure. Just intentional care, presence, and support.
