Thank you for your consideration for my vacation. I am flying in this Monday morning. I will be there. So far everything is on time, I expect to be there by the time it opens. The phones are connected to my cell. I am waiting to board the plane in 10 minutes.

December 29 through January 2 the office will be closed as Dr. D is away on vacation for the first time in years. You will be able to call about your sick kids and all newborn babies by calling the office and leaving messages because the phones are being forwarded. Please respect Dr. D and ALL other calls for routine questions wait until she returns and then call. Remember I (Dr. D) have been working alone for almost 5 months. She needs some downtime. Have a Happy New Year!

All billing is now switched over to the new company and come the New Year, there may be online payments set up. Be patient until that happens. Remember with new insurance you must have a copy when you come in some form when you bring your child whether virtual or a hard copy- not just numbers.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day the office will be closed. You will be able to reach Dr. D as usual by calling the office for any questions concerning your sick child. The calls will be forwarded to Dr. D’s cell so leave a message and she will get back to you. All routine questions should wait until December 26 at 8:30 when the office opens again.

Just a reminder, if the storm hits and snow lands do not risk driving to make a well child appointment. Call me and tell me that you can’t make it when the office opens and the appointment will be cancelled and rescheduled to when it is safe. Happy winter driving!!

With the new EMR you should still be receiving a voice mail and text 5 days, 3 days and the day off but we have found that for some the primary contact number may be different. That has been very few. It is still your responsibility to know when your children’s appointments are and if you miss them, you will be responsible for any fees. I am responsible to know my own doctors’ appointments and get to them without reminders. I know the reminders are working because other parents are getting them and I put myself in the queue also. I explained there would be adjustments but in the end you will like it.

I have officially moved to electronic records. It will take some time but eventually it will be a lot easier. Be patient as we transition. Thank you.

Flu shots and flumist are in. Call for appointments and I will try to accommodate you as soon as possible.

I’m currently looking for as you know a medical assistant since Rebecca left and now I’m looking for someone for the front desk. If you think you may be interested, feel free to contact me through the office website and I will tell you how to attach any information I would like from you. Part-time is an option even though our normal hours are not even considered full time. Training for a EMR will be required.

Because of changes with the office we will be moving to electronic medical records in the next month to try to help with ease work load with only two of us in the office and to help with billing. There may be a lot of “birthing” pains. We will be working with a combination of the EMR for new visits and old visits will still be on paper for a while. Please be patient with us. Any billing up until September will still be with the old company and will let you know when you the transfer will be with the new company will occur.

Updates on insurance information: the beginning of 2026 the following insurances willl not be taken at McMurray Pediatric and Adolescent and the previous insurances that require you only go to UPMC or AGH providers:
Aetna Better Health
All Savers
Boon Chapman
Champ Va
Christian Healthcare Ministries
Medishare Plans
Out of State Medicaid

No it is not because we don’t do electronic fund transfers, we do. That is for those who read a review. There are various reasons , but the biggest reason we see too few in each. If you have any questions feel free to contact the office about alternatives.
