500 Million Years in the Making. Before the first dinosaurs roamed, deep within the Mohawk Valley of New York, a unique geological event was occurring. Under immense pressure and heat, nature was forging what we now know as the Herkimer Diamond.
While they aren’t technically diamonds, they are a geological anomaly: double-terminated quartz that forms with 18 natural facets, a hardness of 7.5 on the Mohs scale, and a spiritual reputation for clarity and amplification.
