We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Derek Bryant to our team at Walters Optometry!
Dr. Bryant is originally from Winfield, Kansas, and recently moved to McPherson with his wife, Hannah, their miniature Australian shepherd, Sailor, and their two cats, Sheldon and Leonard. The Bryants bought their first home here in May and have already fallen in love with the community — especially the local shops and parks.
Dr. Bryant earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry in Tahlequah, OK. During his time there, he served as the national president of the American Optometric Student Association (AOSA), where he advocated for the highest standards in patient care across the country.
His clinical interests include dry eye treatment, specialty contact lenses, and myopia management, and he’s passionate about helping patients not only see clearly, but also feel comfortable and confident about their eye health.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Bryant enjoys gardening, and Hannah brings a creative touch to the community with her background in videography. She recently joined Peoples Bank and Trust as a teller, and together they enjoy long walks with Sailor and exploring all that McPherson has to offer.
We’re excited for you to meet Dr. Bryant — he’s committed to providing high-quality, compassionate eye care and looks forward to getting to know the McPherson community, one patient at a time!
Dr Bryant will begin seeing patients on July 14th.
