Hugh, a native of Telfair county, graduated from Telfair County High School in 2001 and went to South GA college to receive an associates degree in chemistry. He was then accepted to South University and completed his Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2007. Since then he has worked with several retail pharmacies until fulfilling his lifelong dream of owning his own pharmacy. Hugh and his wife Britney bought Ryals Drug Store in October of 2013, and have worked endless hours to renovate the pharmacy, yet keep the older appeal it was known for. They both want to keep Ryals family-oriented, and want you to feel at home as soon as you walk in the door! So come by and let us help you with all your pharmacy and healthcare needs! We’re continuing our series introducing the amazing team that keeps Ryals Drug Store running strong — and today we’re shining the spotlight on Lisa, one of our wonderful Pharmacists! 💊

Most of you know Lisa as the familiar face behind the counter, always ready to lend a helping hand and make sure you’re taken care of. But what many may not realize is how much she does behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly — from checking prescriptions and calling doctors to ensuring our customers receive the best care possible.

Lisa has been a part of the Ryals Drug Store family for 6 years, and we truly can’t imagine the place without her! Around here, we may call her Lisa, but her favorite name is LiLi — and she’s impatiently waiting to add more members to her growing LiLi Fan Club! 💁‍♀️💙

Her attention to detail, strong work ethic, and dedication to our customers make her such an important part of what makes Ryals Drug Store special. Whether she’s answering a question, filling a prescription, or sharing a laugh with a customer, Lisa brings a personal touch to every interaction.

🌟 Employee Spotlight: EJ – Delivery Driver Extraordinaire 🌟

Meet EJ, one of the friendly faces behind the wheel at Ryals Drug Store! Whether he’s delivering your prescriptions with care or making sure every stop is right on time, EJ brings dedication and a smile to everything he does.

When he’s not out on the road helping our customers, EJ switches gears and dives into his other passion — where he installs security systems and networking equipment for homes and businesses with Broken Hart Productions.

In his downtime, you’ll likely find EJ enjoying the great outdoors. He’s an avid hunter and fisherman — though he’ll tell you he spends more time watching empty woods from his deer stand or casting lines into fishless waters than actually catching anything! But that’s all part of the adventure for him.

We’re lucky to have EJ as part of the Ryals Drug Store family — dependable, hardworking, and always good for a laugh. Thanks for everything you do, EJ!

Meet Carlin — one of the smiling faces that make Ryals Outfitters so special!

She brings energy, style, and a great eye for fashion to everything she does. Whether she’s helping customers put together the perfect outfit or adding her creative touch to the store displays, Carlin makes shopping at Ryals a fun and personal experience.

When she’s not at work, Carlin stays active as a member of the Telfair High Tennis Team. Her dedication and team spirit on the court shine through in everything she does at the boutique!

🌟Employee Spotlight: Matthew

Meet Matthew - one of our newest team members! Originally from Tampa, Florida, Matthew has called McRae home for the past three years. He’s a father of four and has been happily married for seven years.

Before joining our team, Matthew built a strong foundation in healthcare over seven years, first as a Department Manager leading a Patient Support team, and later as a Training Manager in Learning and Development, where he focused on onboarding new hires and ensuring ongoing compliance. His commitment to supporting others continues to be evident in all that he does.

Matthew holds a bachelor’s degree in audio production and engineering, and his creative spirit shines through both at work and in his personal life. He enjoys experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, hitting the road for travel adventures—especially road trips—and diving into movies (with a love for horror and documentaries) and books, particularly the works of his favorite author, Stephen King.

Matthew began his journey with us as a delivery driver and has since taken exciting steps toward building a career in pharmacy. We love seeing our team members grow, and it’s especially rewarding when we’re able to promote from within. We’re proud to have his passion, experience, and positive energy as part of our team!

Coffee in hand and a car full of her favorite tunes, Adriel starts each day like it’s her personal stage. 🎶☕️ And yes, if you hear Christmas music in the store way too early, blame Adriel — she insists it’s “totally normal” (sarcasm fully intended). Outside of work, she is working toward her dream of becoming a Registered Nurse, and we know her sharp mind and caring heart will make her an amazing one.

Outside the pharmacy, she loves spending time by the river with her husband and two children.
