Thank You for a Hoppin’ Good Time!

Seeing so many smiling faces, excited kiddos, and families enjoying time together made the day truly special. April is a time for renewal, and this month we are honored to celebrate Janet Hartzell as our Resident Spotlight. Originally from Detroit, Janet’s life was beautifully shaped by a 60-year marriage to a handsome serviceman she met in Pennsylvania. Together, they built a life spanning from California to Oil City, Pennsylvania, raising two daughters who eventually blessed Janet with a legacy of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Though physical challenges led Janet to join the community at Juniper Village, she has embraced this chapter with remarkable resilience. She is a familiar, creative face at our soap-making sessions, craft challenges, and Bingo games, often sharing her love for imagination and yarn work. Janet’s creative spirit is matched only by her deep-rooted values of honesty and kindness, living daily by the Golden Rule.

When reflecting on her journey, Janet notes that her family and marriage remain her greatest sources of pride. Her hope for the future is as humble as it is profound: she simply wishes to be remembered for being kind. We are so grateful to have Janet’s wisdom and warmth brightening our community every day. Thank you, Janet, for sharing your beautiful story with us.

Today, we want to give a special shoutout to Brenda Audley, a valued member of our Wellness Team at Juniper Village in Meadville!

Brenda is currently training to become a Medication Technician, and we are incredibly grateful to have her on our team. Even though she has been with us for less than a year, her compassion, dedication, and warm smile already make a meaningful difference for our community members and fellow associates.

We are especially proud of Brenda for wanting to grow her career at Juniper and for continuing to expand her education here with us. At Juniper Village, we truly believe in giving our associates the opportunity to grow, learn, and succeed, and Brenda is a wonderful example of that commitment in action.

April Fools’ Day at Juniper Village!

Chrissy, our Connections Director, really got us this year! We enjoyed all the laughs and were very relieved to learn we would not be wrestling alligators after all.

One community member summed it up perfectly:
“I was willing to watch… but I wasn’t signing up as a volunteer!”

Thanks for keeping us on our toes and filling our community with laughter. We love a good April Fools’ joke!

This April, we are proud to shine the Associate Spotlight on Kim Winkler, our Business Office Manager and a cherished member of the Juniper Village family for 26 years!

Driven by a lifelong passion for senior care, Kim’s compassion and dedication are felt throughout our community every day. She especially treasures the relationships she builds with community members, enjoying their life stories and the wealth of experience they share. Kim says one of her favorite parts of Juniper life is participating in activities and events, and she loves seeing the engagement and connection between residents and their families.

Kim attributes her success to being reliable, dependable, and deeply empathetic toward both colleagues and those we serve. By prioritizing active listening and respect, she helps foster a nurturing environment where emotional well-being and social engagement flourish. We are incredibly grateful for Kim’s 26 years of unwavering commitment, as she perfectly exemplifies our belief that people are the key.
