Job Description: Behavior Intervention Specialist II (BC)
Requirements
• Be licensed in the state of PA as a Behavior Specialist OR
• Have certification as a BCBA OR
• Have a graduate degree in ABA OR
• Have a minimum of 1 year of full-time experience in providing mental health direct services to children, youth or young adults and a graduate degree in psychology, social work, education, or counseling OR
• Completed a clinical or mental health direct service practicum and a graduate degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, Counseling or related field.
Key Responsibilities
• Conducting behavioral assessments to identify the functions of challenging behaviors and gather baseline data (including the implementation of formal psychological assessment tools)
• Creating and implementing Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) tailored to individual needs
• Providing direct support and guidance to clients, families, and other team members in implementing the BSP
• Regularly collecting data on behavior and analyzing it to track progress and adjust the plan
• Collaborating with families, educators, therapists, and other professionals to ensure a consistent and supportive approach
• Providing training and support to families and team members on implementing the BSP and promoting positive behavior change
• Advocating for the needs of individuals with disabilities within various settings
• Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of assessments, plans, progress, and other relevant information
• Ensuring all services and documentation comply with relevant regulations and guidelines
• Developing and implementing crisis plans and providing support during challenging situations
• Staying up to date on best practices in behavior analysis and related fields
Additional Responsibilities:
• Providing supervision to BIS I staff
• Developing and implementing programs to address specific behavioral needs within an educational or community setting
• Providing training and support to parents on behavior management strategies
• Participating in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contributing to the development of IEP goals
• Providing consultation to schools, agencies, or other organizations on behavioral issues

• Will be trained in Life Space Crisis Intervention (LSCI)
