Muscle Monday! The muscles of Inspiration and Exhalation!
Do you pay attention to your breath? Take a moment and become aware of how your breathing right now. Are you taking shallow breaths? Are you breathing deep into your belly or just your chest? Are your inhalations and exhalations even, or is one longer that the other? Do your ribs expand or do you hold them stiff?
Breathing correctly can have amazing effects on stress and tension relief. If you only breath into your upper chest, of course the smaller muscles of inspiration will become exhausted and struggle to do their other jobs. Fixing our breathing patterns can take years, and is never an overnight process, but the end results are well worth it.
