The Dauphin County Medical Society founded in 1866, seeks to serve its members, the medical community, and the citizens of Dauphin and surrounding Counties. The Society’s mission includes: upholding the ethics and dignity of the medical profession, elevating and maintaining the highest standards of healthcare, promoting and disseminating medical information to members as well as the public, and promoting collegial relations among its members.

Halloween is here, and it's time for some spooky fun! 🎃👻 Whether you're dressing up, carving pumpkins, or trick-or-treating, remember to keep it safe:

· Stay visible: Use reflective tape on costumes & bags. Carry a flashlight or glow stick so you can be seen in the dark.

· Check your treats: Always check candy before eating it.

· Cross smart: Look both ways before crossing the street & use crosswalks whenever possible.

· Costume check: Make sure costumes fit well to avoid trips &falls. Use face paint instead of masks that can block vision.

It's National Check Your Meds Day! Now's the perfect time to make sure your medicine cabinet is in good shape.

Here are three simple tips:

· Check expiration dates. Get rid of anything that's expired.

· Review your meds. Make sure you know what each medication is for and how to take it correctly. If you have questions, call your doctor or pharmacist.

· Properly dispose of old meds. Don't flush them down the toilet or throw them in the trash. Ask your pharmacy about medication take-back programs or disposal sites in your area.

Taking a few minutes today can help keep you and your family safe!
