The Dauphin County Medical Society founded in 1866, seeks to serve its members, the medical community, and the citizens of Dauphin and surrounding Counties. The Society’s mission includes: upholding the ethics and dignity of the medical profession, elevating and maintaining the highest standards of healthcare, promoting and disseminating medical information to members as well as the public, and promoting collegial relations among its members.

The Dauphin County Medical Society recognizes several important health observances throughout January, each highlighting prevention, early detection, and patient education. This month we support our medical community in raising awareness for:

· Cervical Health Awareness

· Glaucoma Awareness

· Thyroid Awareness

· National Blood Donor Month

· National Radon Action Month

· National Birth Defects Prevention Month

· International Quality of Life Month

· Winter Sports Traumatic Brain Injury Awareness
