Pathways Institute for Lifelong Learning "Serve & Learn" attendees were inspired by Jennifer's journey as a refugee and entrepreneur as she shared her story and sweets from her business, Jenbel Haitian Bakery.

During their time together, the group also packed feminine hygiene products in support of Catholic Charities of Harrisburg's Empowering Women for Success Program.

This Earth Day, we're proud to celebrate the many ways our Messiah Lifeways family is caring for the world around us. From small everyday choices to big infrastructure changes, here’s how our teams are making a real difference. 🌱

🚌 We've made the switch to an electric shuttle, reducing emissions and offering a cleaner ride for our residents and team members.
💡Every new project on campus is now built with energy-efficient LED lighting.
📦 Our Purchasing Department has been saving and sharing usable boxes with residents, families, and team members.
🌬️ Extensive HVAC improvements across campus are meaningfully reducing our fuel-burning emissions.
♻️ We're working to replace single-use Styrofoam with reusable containers across campus.
🥕 Chef Scott is getting ready to plant our campus garden which will provide fresh produce all summer long.

What does Artificial Intelligence (AI) mean for everyday life? Pathways Institute for Lifelong Learning participants explored this question through a three-session AI workshop trying out simple, practical features and discussing ethical, privacy, and safety considerations. For the final class, Messiah University students joined for a intergenerational discussion about the future of technology.

Last week's Pathways Institute for Lifelong Learning cooking class was a hit! 🍽️👩‍🍳 Attendees loved learning how to create a flavorful one-pan chicken and rice dish with a fresh salad and homemade vinaigrette, while picking up tips on enhancing flavor and exploring gluten-free options.

Residents are always willing to lend a hand 🤝

☕Morning coffee group members kept their hands busy during their daily chat, helping finish quilts by tying knots in each square. Through Mennonite Central Committee - MCC, these comforters are shared with people around the world who have been displaced by war and disaster.

What an incredible Pathways Institute for Lifelong Learning class with Summit Search and Rescue! Attendees loved learning how a bloodhound’s amazing nose helps save lives, plus the hands-on demo with Stratton stealing the show as he tracked down a “lost” participant and shared the heartwarming bond of a therapy dog. 🐾
