Our rehabilitation therapists empower those affected by cancer and its treatment to live their best

ReVital is a groundbreaking cancer rehabilitation program developed by Select Medical, one of the nation’s leading providers of specialized post-acute care. With more than 20 inpatient rehabilitation hospitals and 1,600 outpatient therapy centers, the team is bringing comprehensive rehabilitation services to cancer survivors at a scale and in ways that have not been possible until now. ReVital's capabilities include lymphedema therapy, physical and occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, cognitive rehabilitation, and neuropsychology. These services are currently offered at SSM Physical Therapy centers in the greater St. Louis area and Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation outpatient centers in the greater Dallas area.

Your 30s are this great time where you're finally old enough to be taken seriously, but suddenly, everything starts to hurt, and your knee, hip or back cracks when you stand up.

Joint issues may already be settling in, especially if you have previous injuries, repetitive stress, obesity or are genetically predisposed.

Follow the advice of Physical Therapist Chris Hanson for a few exercises to keep your joints moving. If you don't take protective action, joint replacement surgery could be your future, but it doesn't have to be. Physical therapists can help you proactively start care for smooth sailing as you enter your 40s and 50s.

The Select Physical Therapy - Pasadena team recently attended the annual Celebrate Life 5K Run and Survivors' Lap event with Texas Oncology. Our talented clinicians spoke to ReVital cancer rehabilitation program and offered runners a post-run stretch.

Physical Therapist Greg Hartzler represented our center and ran the 5k. Therapists Kevin, Sydney, and Diane provided stretching and spoke to attendees about our services.

In life, our greatest struggles often become our greatest victories.

At 23, Karthik Jayaraman’s career as a physical therapist took an unexpected turn after a biopsy found a cancerous mass in his neck.

Enduring six months of chemotherapy, 35 radiation sessions and extensive surgery to remove the mass, the treatment was extremely intensive – and very successful.

Karthik’s life has now come full circle. He currently serves as the center manager and ReVital Cancer Rehabilitation physical therapist at Baylor Scott & White Dallas Sammons Cancer Center.
