Now that people have had the chance to get the Covid-19 vaccine, and with case numbers relatively low, I'm not insisting on you masking up while in the office, and I'm not either. If you prefer me to, I have no problem wearing a mask, and I won't be offended at all if you ask me to.

It's now a day and a half after getting the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine. All I got was a dull headache that Naproxen handled.

Just received my first Covid Vaccine a few days ago. I only had a bit of a sore upper arm as a result. When I get the second dose in a few weeks, I expect chills, and maybe a mild fever.

The first dose of any vaccine primes your immune system, and the second dose really kicks it into gear. Just because the vaccine results in these symptoms does not mean that the vaccine is giving you Covid. The symptoms of chills and fever are your body's own attempt to deal with what it thinks of as a foreign invader.

Please don't hesitate in getting the vaccine when it becomes available to you. You are far far more likely to have serious problems from Covid rather than from the vaccine.

We've reopened our offices as of late May. The start-up will be slow as we work through disinfection and patient flow. All patients must wear masks, and I will as well. I ask that you reschedule your appointment if you have a fever, cough, or other symptoms.

Lately, as I am getting a little closer to retirement, I decided to cut back some on my hours. As a result, I will not be practicing at Boscov's Optical after September 6th.

I'll still be at Babineau Opticians in Mechanicsburg on Mondays and Thursdays, and Sipe Opticians in Spring Grove on Wednesdays.

Patient records and retinal photos from Boscov's will be kept at Babineau Opticians. Just let me know if you need a copy of your records.

Of course, I'd still be happy to see you at either of my other offices!

A couple nice optical illusions for you... In this first one, all the horizontal lines are parallel to each other, but they don't seem to be.

In the second one, the darkness of the gray in the top section is the same as the darkness in the bottom, but it sure doesn't look like it.
