This year marks a meaningful milestone—6 years of At Home Rehab & Wellness, LLC. Founded in 2020 by a physical therapist seeking a better way to care for patients, our practice was built on a simple but powerful belief: therapy should be personal, skilled, and focused on real life.

After stepping away from corporate productivity pressures and one-size-fits-all treatment models, our founder envisioned a practice centered on one-on-one care, delivered directly in a patient’s home. By removing clinic walls and time constraints, we’re able to focus on what truly matters—safe mobility, functional independence, and confidence in daily activities.

Providing physical and occupational therapy in the home allows us to address real-world challenges: navigating stairs, transferring safely, managing daily routines, and adapting the home environment to support long-term success. Every visit is individualized, intentional, and rooted in clinical expertise and compassion.

We are grateful to our patients, families, caregivers, and referral partners who have trusted us over the past six years. Your support has allowed us to grow while staying true to our mission.

**𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿, 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴: 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗗𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀**

January often brings cold 🥶 temperatures that make it tempting to stay inside & sit more than usual. While rest has its place, prolonged sitting & reduced activity can quickly lead to stiffness, weakness, balance changes, & increased fall risk—especially as we age.

𝗣𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 & 𝗢𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗽𝘆 are valuable tools for recovery & prevention.
Staying active 🏃♂️throughout the winter helps maintain & improve:
- Joint mobility
- Muscle strength
- Circulation
- Confidence with everyday movement

𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲 can make a meaningful difference:
- Stand up regularly (during commercials)
- Walk indoors around the house or up/down the stairs (set a timer every 1-2 hours)
- Be safe & use a device if needed

𝗜𝗻-𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗽𝘆 allows treatment to be tailored to your actual living environment. Our therapists focus on 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁—getting up from chairs, navigating stairs, walking safely through the home, & performing daily tasks with better efficiency. Therapy also helps identify habits that contribute to discomfort or instability & replaces them with safer alternatives.

As winter approaches, shorter days, icy walkways, & extra indoor clutter can create new safety challenges — especially for older adults or anyone managing mobility changes. December is the ideal time to pause, look around your home, & make sure your environment is ready for the season.

Start with the basics, 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿𝘀:
❄️clear walkways
❄️remove leaves or debris
❄️ensure outdoor lights are working.
𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿𝘀:
🎄check that hallways and entryways are well lit
🎄replace dim bulbs
🎄secure any loose throw rugs

Take a quick look at handrails, steps, & threshold transitions; a loose railing or uneven surface can easily turn into a fall.
Don’t forget the 𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺 — the #1 location for in-home falls.
Add grab bars, place non-slip mats inside and outside the tub/shower, & consider a shower chair or raised toilet seat for added stability. These simple upgrades dramatically improve safety and confidence.

As the owner of At Home Rehab & Wellness, Thanksgiving is a season that reminds me why I do this work. I’m deeply thankful for the trust our patients place in us and for the privilege of walking alongside them through healing, recovery, and renewed independence.

Every day, I witness strength — not just in muscles and movement, but in perseverance, courage, and hope. I see God’s grace in the resilience and determination of those we serve, and it’s a gift I never take for granted.

I’m grateful for our amazing patients, their families, and our community who allow us to serve them in their homes and lives. Health, movement, connection — these are blessings we don’t take for granted.

As the weather cools, it’s tempting to stay cozy on the couch — but movement is medicine! 💪 Reduced activity can lead to stiffness, muscle weakness, and decreased balance, which may increase fall risk. That’s why even short bouts of exercise throughout the day are so important, especially for older adults or those recovering from injury.

Try these simple indoor moves:
🏠 March in place during TV commercials to boost circulation and leg strength
🪑 Stand up every 30–60 minutes to maintain core activation and joint mobility
🎯 Stretch or do light balance exercises in a clear, safe area to improve stability and coordination
*Use a sturdy chair, kitchen sink, or walker for hand support, if needed, to be safe!

Even 5–10 minutes a few times a day can make a difference in strength, flexibility, and confidence in moving around your home.

And, If you don't mind the cold, bundle up & head out for a 15-30 min brisk walk!

As the weather cools and daylight hours shorten, fall risks increase—especially for older adults. At At Home Rehab & Wellness, we’re focusing on Fall Prevention Awareness this October, helping you stay safe, steady, and confident at home.

1️⃣ Clear the Path: Remove clutter, throw rugs, and cords from walkways. Keep floors dry and well-lit—especially in hallways and bathrooms.

2️⃣ Light It Up: Use nightlights and motion-sensor lamps to improve visibility at night. Poor lighting is one of the top causes of falls at home.

3️⃣ Strengthen & Balance: Daily exercises like heel raises, mini squats, or standing marches can improve stability. Our therapists can create a personalized program for your home.

As we head into Memorial Day weekend, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who have served and sacrificed for our country. It is a day to reflect on the courage, dedication, and selflessness of those who gave their lives to protect our freedoms.
