🌎 Honoring Indigenous Peoples’ Day 🌿
Today, we pause to honor the first peoples of this land—their resilience, wisdom, and living traditions that continue to shape our world.
For generations, this day was celebrated as Columbus Day, centering a narrative of “discovery” that erased the voices and suffering of Indigenous communities. Choosing to celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day instead is more than a name change—it’s an act of truth-telling, acknowledgment, and healing.
✨ Why it matters for mental health:
When we honor Indigenous histories and experiences, we take a step toward collective healing. Truth and acknowledgment are essential to restoring dignity, belonging, and balance—both individually and culturally.
For Indigenous communities, reclaiming this day is an affirmation of identity and survival. For non-Indigenous people, it’s a chance to listen, learn, and take part in repairing harm through awareness and respect.
At Realign, we believe healing begins with connection—to self, to one another, and to the land.
Today we celebrate the beauty, strength, and spirit of Indigenous peoples everywhere. 🌿🕊️
