In December 2015, my mom was driving me to a doctor's appointment when a tree fell through the top of our car. My mom and I both needed brain rest to recover from our concussions so we started painting furniture around the house using the techniques we had learned at a class Chelsea taught at Red Poppy Pickin. We quickly ran out of items to paint so we started taking custom orders for friends and family and attending estate sales to find unique pieces. I was 13 at the time and the painting, distressing and creating helped me work through PTSD and vocal cord dysfunction associated with the accident. We opened the shop April 2, 2016 and never imagined this kind of good to come out of something so hard!
