As we prepare for demolition to make way for our newest cottage, the Hanover County Fire Department had the opportunity to use the space for training and rescue drills. We’re proud to support their work in keeping our community safe.

This week, Covenant Woods had the pleasure of welcoming Kimberly Porter and Lawson Davis for a keynote on the Power of 9 - lifestyle habits featured in Netflix’s Live to 100: Secrets of the Blue Zones. Residents also joined interactive workshops exploring purpose and intentional living as key parts of health and longevity. 🌐💙

Thank you to the Blue Zones team for bringing this experience to our community, and for helping our residents live with greater purpose and well-being.

Yesterday’s excursion took Covenant Woods residents to a delicious lunch at Sally Bell's Kitchen, followed by an exciting afternoon at the Science Museum of Virginia to visit the Ultimate Dinosaur exhibit, where residents discovered fascinating facts about prehistoric life and some of the largest dinosaurs to ever walk the Earth. 🦖

Learning about native plants is now just a scan away. 📱🌱 New plaques now mark native plants along our trails and throughout campus—thanks to the efforts of our residents who made this project happen. Each plaque includes a QR code you can scan to learn more about the plants that call Covenant Woods home.

Our Engagement Fair was a wonderful success! Residents had the chance to connect with representatives from Interest Groups, the Resident Council, and CW departments, all showcasing the various activities and organizations here at Covenant Woods.

From the Grateful Deadheaders gardening group to the Creaky Crooners glee club, there’s truly something for everyone to enjoy!

We're proud to recognize Renee Mayhew as our Employee of the Quarter! 🌟

Renee has been at Covenant Woods for over 5 years as our Staff Accountant and is always willing to lend a helping hand to others, even outside her department. She is responsible for cash flow analysis and daily bank reconciliations, fixed asset records, along with many other duties. She assists our Leadership team with special projects and she volunteers her time during staff events. Thank you, Renee, for your dedication to our community!

This back-to-school season, Covenant Woods donated school supplies to Mechanicsville Elementary to help equip students for a successful year ahead. 📚 Giving back to our community is always close to our hearts, especially since many of our residents already share a special connection with the school through our beloved GrandPals program, a pen-pal program between residents and students.

Happy ! 🐝 At Covenant Woods, our 90,000 honeybees are busy pollinating our gardens, supporting local ecosystems, and helping us produce fresh, local honey for our dining venues. Surrounded by wildflowers, hyssop, and clover, these gentle pollinators are an important part of our Farm-to-Table mission and commitment to sustainability!
