No, we do not support mandates, but this is about naturally boosting your immune system. We DO support that!
Iām not a fan of mandates in general but the most compelling evidence we have by a long shot, is that addressing vitamin D deficiency and I would add insulin resistance, are the 2 most important drivers for stopping bad C-V-D outcomes!
Vitamin D is incredibly safe, inexpensive and easy to access. You want to get your levels over 50 ng/ml and ideally around 60-80 ng/ml. This is a great test to run regularly.
If you are anti-sun or anti-supplementation, just remember this is about loving your neighbor as yourself. Out of empathy for others, take the time to optimize your D3 levels and improve your metabolic health.
You can optimize your levels by getting 20-40 mins of high quality sun exposure on as much of your body as possible (like laying out in bathing suit) or by taking 1000 IU per 25 lbs of body weight or 2000 IU per 25 lbs of body weight for 1-2 months to increase levels quickly.
Vit d rich foods include pasture raised organ meats (liver) egg yolk, grassfed butter, wild caught salmon, mushrooms. But it is hard to get enough vit D from food! You would have to eat a lot of liver!!
For those with vitamin D resistance- where levels stay low in spite of sun exposure and supplementation, you may need more magnesium which helps the conversion into active vitamin D. You also may need to address liver or kidney problems which will cause levels to stay low as those are the organ systems that convert sunshine into active vitamin D at the cell.
