On Friday, Nurse Mackenzie made our afternoon even better by bringing in her recently adopted puppy, Maisie, for a visit. 🐢 Residents were able to hug and pet Maisie which assisted Maisie with her ability to connect with people. Residents also enjoyed socializing with each other while reminiscing about their beloved pets. 🐈

Meet Lisa!

Lisa came to Mechanicsville Specialty Care in a wheelchair, mostly unable to walk. Thanks to the rehab therapy team, along with her hard work and perseverance, Lisa has begun to walk with assistive devices. In fact, Lisa can walk up to 250 feet. We are so proud of her progress!

Lisa says she likes her care team here in Mechanicsville and that therapy provides her incentives for motivation. Lisa's therapists also stated, "it's Lisa's positive attitude that has helped her achieve success." πŸšΆπŸ˜„

Residents had snow much fun with Ms. Sarah from Cedar County Conservation

πŸŒ¨οΈπŸ˜…β„οΈ 😱

First, residents worked in teams to play tissue box hockey. Pool noodles were used as posts to keep the lid on the table. Then residents recalled having their own snowball contests while using cotton rounds. By completing these exercises, residents used their arms shoulders as well as their facial muscles from smiling and laughing so much!

Stay tuned for Ms. Sarah's visit in February were we learn about groundhogs!

Let us know in the comments below what month we should begin our planting projects!
