I found this in my 6 year old daughter’s drawer- “hi me. I love me. Your the best”- it’s never too young (or old) to teach your kids or yourself positive self talk!!

Some ideas to get started for positive self talk:
-what would I say to a friend going through this? Talk to yourself like a friend
-find an affirmation that feels comfortable to use “you got this”, “I’m trying my best”, “I believe in myself”
-set the affirmations as reminders on your phone so you get the notification, for your kids put a note in their room/lunch/on their devices or send a text
-practice talking kind to yourself in the mirror

When we think of the things calling most of our energy day to day we use the word balance. Work/life balance, relationship balance, managing roles of parenting/partner/friend/family member.

Try thinking of balance as a shift in energy between recognizing your strengths and setting boundaries with those things that are taking too much of our time and energy where affects our mental health.

When our energy is unbalanced we become tired, anxious, stressed out, and depressed.

When our energy is balanced we feel a sense of well-being, brightness, ease, and peace.

Balance is not an equalization of things and roles, it’s a shift of energy between what we can handle in one moment and boundaries with ourselves and others.
