Dear Patients & Families,

We are thrilled to announce that we have added two new clinicians to the Peds First team! Please join us in giving a warm Peds First welcome to, Physician Assistant, Liliana Saunders and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Elizabeth Kenney!

About Liliana:

Liliana is a board-certified Physician Assistant from Long Island. She attended Hofstra University as a dual degree student obtaining both a Bachelor’s and Master’s of Science in Physician Assistant Studies with distinction. Her compassionate and calming demeanor allow her to provide quality care for pediatric patients and their families. Lily has experience at Cohen Children’s Medical Center and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Lenox Hill Hospital. She is also passionate about mental health and obtained a minor in Psychology during her undergraduate studies. Outside of work, Lily enjoys spending with family and friends, reading, and going to the beach.

Reason why you wanted to work in pediatrics? Kids make me smile and I want to make them smile!

Best advice you have ever been given- A person who asks many questions is only a fool for a minute, but a person who asks no questions is a fool for a lifetime. Always stay curious and keep learning as a medical provider.

Best parenting advice you give to parents- It doesn’t matter how many people tell you things about your child, no one knows them better then you do. Trust your instincts.

About Elizabeth:

Elizabeth graduated from Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, NY in May 2019. She started her career as a Registered Nurse at Cohen Children’s Medical Center in September 2019 on a complex medical surgical floor. Elizabeth decided to expand her medical scope by going back to school and obtaining her masters as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at Molloy University. She graduated in August 2024. Elizabeth lives with her husband in Bethpage. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, and running.

Elizabeth's Fun Facts:

Favorite kids book- If You Give A Mouse A Cookie

Favorite kids show- Bluey!

Favorite movie- Legally Blonde

Favorite food- Pasta

Favorite color- Purple

Favorite animal- Giraffes

Favorite thing to do on the weekends or hobby- Reading, running, spending time with family and friends

Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter? Spring!

Sports fan? If so, what are your favorite teams? Mets

Reason why you wanted to work in pediatrics? I saw a PNP growing up and I always admired how she included me in every conversation about my health. She made a note to ask about my life and what I was doing which made each visit feel really personal. I hope to do that with my patients.

Best advice you have ever been given- Be yourself

Best parenting advice you give to parents- Do what is best for your own child

Ask for Elizabeth or Liliana when booking your next appointment! Be sure to say hello if you see them around the office!

As always, thank you for choosing us to care for your family!

They may be small, but their sunburns are mighty! 🌞 Let’s talk sunscreen for the whole squad💥 —from tiny newborns to too-cool teens 😎. Protecting your child's skin from the sun is crucial at every stage of growth.

✨Here's how you can help:

Newborns (0–6 months):
☀️ Avoid direct sunlight; their skin is highly sensitive.
☀️Use shade, lightweight clothing, and wide-brimmed hats for protection.
☀️If necessary, apply a minimal amount of broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen with SPF 30+ to small exposed areas like the face and hands.

Babies (6–12 months):
☀️Continue using shade and protective clothing.
☀️Apply a broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen with SPF 30+ to exposed skin.
☀️Opt for mineral sunscreens containing zinc oxide or titanium dioxide to minimize irritation.

Kids & Teens (1–18 years):
☀️Use a broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen with SPF 30–50.
☀️Apply sunscreen 15–30 minutes before sun exposure and reapply every two hours, or after swimming or sweating.
☀️For teens, choose non-comedogenic formulas to prevent breakouts.

🚨 Remember, no sunscreen is "waterproof" or "sweatproof." Always reapply as directed.

Stay sun-safe and enjoy the outdoors responsibly! 😎
