Squats and deadlifts are a great way to activate your glutes.

However, if your glutes are not firing or the neuroconnection is not being correctly distributed to the right muscles during your squats or deadlifts due to muscle imbalances, you may not be getting the results you are capable of.

Cinnamon Green Smoothie

Recipe:

Place spinach in blender with guar gum free canned coconut milk and water and blend fully. Add in cinnamon, peaches, strawberries and banana and blend again.

Ingredients:

• 2 heaping handfuls spinach
• ½ cup coconut milk
• ½ cup water
• 1 tbsp cinnamon
• 1 cup frozen peaches
• 1 cup frozen strawberries
• 1 banana (frozen optional)

No Noodle Spaghetti

Recipe: Cook ground beef on the stove top. Add salt, fresh garlic and onion. Once meat is fully cooked, add jar of marinara and can of tomatoes. Cook with slight boil for 45 minutes and add fresh basil. Cook for 15 more minutes. Cut spaghetti squash in half and scoop out seeds. Spread olive or avocado oil onto squash and add salt and pepper. Place flesh side down onto pan sheet and cook at 400 degrees for 30-40 minutes. Scrape contents of squash contents out with fork. Steam boil broccolini for 5-10 minutes. Plate and add fresh basil and serve!

• 1 lb. ground beef
• Salt to taste
• 4 garlic cloves
• ½ medium onion
• 25-ounce jar of marinara
• 1.5 cups of tomatoes
• 1 spaghetti squash
• 1 bunch of broccolini

One way to combat aging is to reduce advanced glycogen end products or AGEs which lead to oxidative stress and inflammation.

Charring or partial burning of food creates AGEs and can be reduced by cooking at lower temperatures for longer.

Food can play a role in your COPD symptoms. One way to ease shortness of breath is to eat plenty of antioxidants.

Studies have shown that antioxidant intake is correlated with an increase in lung capacity and the ability to expel air from the lungs, due to less oxidative stress and inflammation.

Look for foods high in vitamins C, E and beta-carotene. These are foods that are purple, blue, red, orange, and yellow.
