Treatments are 30 to 45 minutes, and include gentle adjustments, deep muscle work, and customized home stretches, providing fast, lasting pain relief. At Medford Family Chiropractic Center, the emphasis is twofold: To help you eliminate pain with gentle, low-force and conventional chiropractic, and to help achieve optimal wellness by helping the nervous system to function with minimal interference. Dr. Matt Sheehan uses deep tissue massage and trigger point therapy before adjustments, to loosen stiff, achey muscles, making the adjustments more gentle and effective. Medford Family Chiropractic recently moved to the D'Anjou Building in Medford in order to be right down the hall from Susannah Graven and Christa Rodriguez. These massage therapists are on location take wonderful care of Dr. Matt's patients with more involved massage needs. Many patients report that they prefer the low force approach, and that it often doesn't feel like an adjustment was done because Dr. Matt's technique is gentle and different, yet the joints and muscles often release as well as with a conventional "popping" adjustment. And when they don't, Dr. Matt will often use a conventional technique to adjust the area. Any preference a patient has for a type of technique is always honored. Dr. Matt also loves coaching patients in rehab exercises after assessing their strength, flexibility and balance needs.This is usually vital in assuring that the results achieved with care will last. If muscles and joints aren't fully rehabilitated, symptoms will often return eventually because the cause of the symptoms have not been successfully addressed, only the symptoms themselves. Emotional Freedom Technique, E.F.T., is another exciting and effective approach Dr. Matt uses to help eliminate both pain and emotional causes of stress that contribute to the onset of pain.
