March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month.
Advanced Care Life Services is now offering the Shield blood test, an FDA approved screening option for colon cancer that can be done with a simple blood draw during your visit. There is no handling of stool, and results are typically available within about two weeks.
If you are 45 or older and due for colon cancer screening, contact our office to discuss the benefits and risks of all screening options and see if the Shield test may be right for you.

We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to WinterSpring for hosting today’s Supporting Caregivers in Grief training.

WinterSpring provides a safe, compassionate space for individuals and families navigating loss, offering grief support groups, resources, and guidance rooted in connection and understanding. Their work ensures that no one in our community has to face grief alone, which is incredibly important.

We are grateful for the opportunity to learn from their team and continue strengthening how we support those we serve. We look forward to attending future training events and continuing to grow alongside such an impactful organization.

Not Today, Ted. Not Today.
One year ago, Ted Schatz suffered a devastating "widowmaker" heart attack while driving on I-5. He lost consciousness and his truck ran off the road.
By sheer miracle, Michelle arrived on the scene and immediately began CPR. For five minutes she fought to bring him back. Then an AED from a responding fire crew arrived just in time. That AED saved Ted’s life.

Stories like this are why every rural law enforcement vehicle should carry an AED. According to the American Heart Association, immediate CPR and the use of an AED can double or even triple survival rates in sudden cardiac arrest.

Let’s make sure the next person has the same chance.

Contractor Ted Schatz was pulling a load of concrete down the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 just before 1 p.m. Thursday when he realized something was gravely wrong.

Interested in a career in healthcare or looking to take the next step in the field? The Advanced Care Education Center is now offering our Nursing Assistant Training Program.

Our training program prepares participants to become eligible to test for certification through the Oregon State Board of Nursing.

Attend one of our Education Center Orientation sessions to learn more about the program, training schedule, and enrollment process.

Our first orientation this year will be held March 17, 2026. Orientations will then be held every first and third Tuesday of the month throughout the year at 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM.

WorkSource will also be present to help guide attendees through potential funding opportunities.
