✨ What is Neuropathy? ✨

Neuropathy is a condition that affects the nerves, often causing pain, tingling, burning, or numbness in the feet and legs. Many people describe it as a “pins and needles” sensation, but it can also feel like sharp shooting pains or complete loss of feeling.

Why it matters:
When you can’t feel your feet properly, you’re at higher risk for injuries, wounds, and infections that may go unnoticed.

Common causes include:
Diabetes
Vitamin deficiencies
Certain medications
Injuries or trauma to the nerves

✅ If you’ve noticed changes in sensation, burning, or numbness in your feet, don’t ignore it. Early detection and treatment can help manage symptoms and prevent complications.

📅 Call our office today to schedule an appointment if you are experiencing any of the above symptoms.

If you have kids in sports, you’re going to want to read this 👇

Did you know one of the most common causes of heel pain in kids isn’t just “growing pains”? It’s actually something called Sever’s Disease—a heel injury that often affects active, growing kids.

It happens when the growth plate in the heel gets inflamed from overuse or repetitive stress (think running, jumping, and nonstop practices).

Who’s most at risk?
Kids ages 8–14, especially those playing soccer, basketball, or running-heavy sports.

🚨 Symptoms to watch for:
• Heel pain after activity
• Tenderness or swelling in the heel
• Limping or walking on toes to avoid pain

✅ How to help/prevent it:
• Gentle stretching & strengthening
• Supportive shoes with cushioned insoles
• Rest + ice when pain flares
• Physical therapy for more severe cases

✨ Bottom line: If your child is limping, complaining of heel pain, or avoiding activity—it’s worth paying attention. Their pain might be telling you more than you think.

Foot pain in kids is more common than you might think—especially during growth spurts. While some aches can be temporary, ongoing heel pain, foot pain, or ankle issues should never be ignored.

If your child’s discomfort doesn’t go away, it may be time to see a podiatrist. Early care can make a big difference and ensure they get the personalized treatment they need to stay active and pain-free.

Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common causes of heel and foot pain—and if you’ve had it, you know how uncomfortable it can be.

One of the simplest ways to reduce pain is by choosing the right shoes, both inside and outside the house.

Here are a few of our top picks:

Oofos Slides – Not the most stylish slide, but perfect as a supportive house shoe that provides all-day comfort.

Asics Kayano – A stylish, supportive sneaker you can wear with jeans or workout gear.

Brooks Adrenaline – Excellent support for walking, running, or exercise in general.

Hoka Clifton – Supportive, versatile, and available in lots of colors for everyday wear.

Hoka Bondi – Similar to the Clifton but with even more cushioning and support.

The truth is, everyone’s feet are different—so it’s important to try on a few styles to see what feels best for you.

If you’re struggling with plantar fasciitis or aren’t sure what shoe is right for your foot, we’d be happy to help guide you!

Morning heel pain, often caused by a condition known as plantar fasciitis is very common and can be extremely painful!

Your first reaction might be to call your podiatrist, but the correct answer would be to stretch it out. Stretching helps increase flexibility and reduces tightness in the plantar fascia and calf muscles. The muscles tighten overnight, which is why it is very common to have a lot of pain first thing in the morning.

If the pain continues or gets worse make sure to make an appointment with one of our Drs.
