Do you or someone you know receive SNAP? Changes to SNAP are beginning October 1, 2025 under the Republican Budget Bill (H.R.1), and 313,000 Oregonians will be affected.

⚠️ October 1 — New SNAP rules begin today for adults ages 18 to 64 without children under 14 in Multnomah, Washington, Clackamas, Yamhill, Benton and Hood River counties. People in this group may only receive benefits for three months unless they meet certain additional requirements.

About 310,000 adults statewide will be newly evaluated under these rules, which will expand to all counties in January 2026.

⚠️October 15: Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS) will mail notices to affected households.

About 9,600 households receiving help with heating and cooling costs will be notified that SNAP benefits will be reduced starting November 1. An additional 29,000 will see reductions gradually over the next year as cases are reviewed.

ℹ️ For more information on the changes please visit ODHS website: Oregon.Gov/ODHS/news/pages/federal-updates.aspx.

We are deeply concerned that these federal SNAP changes will increase hunger and hardship in our communities, and we remain committed to supporting Oregonians through our network of food assistance.
