In the days leading up to your discharge from Pinelands, you will likely experience a range of emotions –from a sense of accomplishment and pride at how far you’ve come, to worry and anxiety about how you will manage real-life temptations and triggers outside of treatment.

While these feelings are all valid, understand that our support for you and your journey does not end with your treatment experience. We anticipate the challenges that you may encounter, and we will work with you to create a personalized aftercare plan before you leave so that you feel confident navigating your new sober lifestyle. As an alumnus, you will also receive ongoing support from our team and alumni community as well as regular check-ins to ensure that you continue to make great progress.

All too often people avoid having difficult conversations that they don’t fully grasp. When in reality, discussing tough topics yields a better understanding of them.

Today, on International Overdose Awareness Day, we want to remind you that the first step toward preventing an overdose is talking about it. That is, spreading knowledge about overdose to promote awareness and, if you are struggling with substance use, talking to someone about getting help.
