Diabetes affects many of us, but knowing the differences can help you or a loved one stay healthy. Here’s a simple breakdown:

Type 1 Diabetes: This is less common and often starts in childhood. It happens when your body’s immune system attacks the cells that make insulin, so your body stops producing it. Without insulin, sugar builds up in your blood.

Type 2 Diabetes: This is more common and usually develops in adults, though it’s showing up more in young people too. Here, your body makes insulin but doesn’t use it well, leading to high blood sugar. Lifestyle factors like diet and activity play a big role.

Remember, early detection and support make a big difference—you’re not alone! Talk to your healthcare provider for personalized advice.
