Deep Clean the Cafe - ✨

Believe it or not, this is one of our highest attended events.

Some of our members are genuinely so passionate about giving back and this last week they killed it at getting the cafe cleaned from top to bottom!

We would like to thank each one of you for giving up your afternoon to hang out with us! We appreciate all of you so, so much!

We would like to give a huge shout out and thank you to St. Mary's School for their generous donation to Reclaiming Lives/Recovery Cafe.

Below is a little information on how organizations are chosen…

“Community 101 is a student club that works to learn about our community and fulfill grants to local non-profit organizations. Each year the club researches issues impacting our community, chooses a mission statement for the year, reaches out to local nonprofits that are supporting the mission statement and then invites them to apply for grants. After applications are received club members visit the non-profit to learn more about what they are doing. After all of the site visits the club members decide which grants to fulfill. This year's mission read as follows:

The students at St. Mary’s School have chosen to support the critical issue of substance and alcohol misuse in Southern Oregon. With the generous support of the Oregon Community Foundation, our chapter will be donating funds and volunteer hours to the cause of recovery, prevention, and treatment efforts for those negatively impacted by the use of drugs and alcohol. We aim to see the Community 101 funds increase access to the treatment and prevention of substance addiction and improve the lives of those affected.

Community 101 is a program of the Oregon Community Foundation. The club is given a grant by OCF to use to fulfill the grant requests of the local non profits. In addition to the above activities, throughout the year the club members fundraise to increase the amount of grants they are able to fulfill. The students fundraised $4000 this year which allowed them to distribute $11,000 in total.”

We feel very fortunate and honored to receive this gift! Again, thank you so much!

Voice of Courage ~

There is something incredibly powerful about sharing your story!

In a room filled with honesty, vulnerability, laughter, tears, and unwavering support, our recent Voice of Courage event reminded us all why testimony matters.

During this special evening in the cafe, three of our members and one of our staff/peer support team members courageously shared their recovery journeys.

Each story was different…

Different paths, different pain, different battles fought in the quiet places no one else could see. Yet, despite the differences, the message was beautifully the same… recovery is possible.

There is healing in being seen, and there is hope in hearing someone say, “I’ve been there too.”

When one person chooses courage over silence, it gives others permission to believe that freedom is possible for them as well. It reminds us that no matter how dark the past may have been, it does not have to define the future.

The room was filled with tears as people connected with the pain, and laughter as joy broke through the transformation.

There was strength in the vulnerability and healing in the community that surrounded each speaker with love and encouragement.

Every testimony served as a reminder that sobriety is not just about leaving something behind, it is about stepping fully into the life waiting on the other side.

Our past does not define us. Instead, it becomes part of the testimony that illuminates the light we found when we stepped out of the darkness.

Recovery is not only possible, it is transformational. It is proof that people can rebuild, restore, and reclaim their lives.

Voice of Courage was more than an event, it was a reminder that stories save lives. When we share where we have been, we help light the way for someone else still trying to find their way out.

And that is courage.

In the quietness a lot of reflection takes place…

In the hustle and bustle of the day a lot of lives are changed.

So much hope takes place within these walls, even on the hard days.

Conversations take place.

Laughter happens.

Tears pour out.

Next steps are chosen.

Step work is in progress.

Meals are shared.

Advice is given.

Love always exists.

It’s not always easy…

Some days we challenge you.

Some day we ask you to step out of the comfortable spaces.

Some days we hold you accountable.

But every day, we strive to see you belong, grow and inspire.

Because every day we just want to walk alongside side you and help you reclaim your life.

You are worth it!

Thank you for choosing us to be a part of your recovery journey.
