Last month was our volunteer appreciation at Celia’s House and some beautiful and bright photos just came in! A vibrant reminder of our gratitude for these special individuals 💕

“Heartful Hand” awards were given out, and a local playback theater group joined us to play-back some very tender moments in an impromptu and humorous way

This week we honored Dr John Forsyth’s many years of volunteering at Celia’s House ❤️ And it was his birthday!

If you know Dr Forsyth, you know he is a light of love and compassion. And he always makes sure residents and families have his legendary root beer float❣️ A retired surgeon, philosopher, and a person with one of the biggest, most giving hearts. Our hearts overflow with gratitude for you, John!

We are hosting an open house this Saturday at Celia’s House: 217 S Modoc Ave. Medford, OR. 2-5pm.
Please join us and invite guests! You do not need to schedule anything, just show up. Tours will be every 30 mins with the first tour at 2pm and the last at 4:30pm.
Our next open house will be Saturday, December 13, 2-5pm.

Because of the generosity of our community, we not only met our summer fundraising goal—we exceeded it! Moving from summer into fall, our hearts are overflowing with gratitude.

Behind every donation is a story of comfort:
• A grandfather was able to pass peacefully, wrapped in a quilt, with his family at bedside
• A young woman, scared and in pain, can have the comfort to enhance her journey, surrounded by friends, and the grace to meet her mortality
• A husband has the time and space from being in a caregiver role to come to peace with his wife’s end of life, in a place that feels like home

Happy Monday! It’s a puppy day at Celia’s House 😍

Today also marks 5 years since the local Almeda fire.
We honor all the firefighters, brave community members, and people who lost their homes 💔❤️‍🩹❤️

Our volunteers mean so much to us! Between Celia’s House and The HUB, we have just over 170 volunteers—that is AMAZING! And oh so helpful.

As a small nonprofit organization, volunteers make the quality, compassionate care Celia’s House is known for possible. Volunteers support staff, residents, and families by filling a number a roles.

Our volunteers understand the importance of hospice care in our community and generously lend their time and talents to ensure we can continue to serve everyone. It takes a village!

(And we have so much fun together!💕)

Friday evening was an Art & Grief session at Celia’s House, lead by local artist Gabriel Barrera.

Several people gathered around the table to draw or paint grief on a blank page, and as they did, the sky expressed its own art with a magnificent sunset.

Two double rainbows appeared as everyone concluded their depictions and went around the room to share if they wanted. Emotions that aren’t always felt poured out as they tapped into a different avenue of expression.

Bingo in the sunroom today ☀️ Celia’s House is a special place—our 24/7 care is tender and dignified, with compassionate caregivers, RNs, and volunteers. We ensure every person is as comfortable as possible, and we offer many resources and support for families.

Our care staff appreciation bbq was yesterday☀️ We grilled out back and gave gifts of gratitude to our wonderful CNAs, MedTechs, and caregivers who do so much for others every day.
Thank you to those who contributed towards this meaningful evening. And huge thank you to our amazing, hardworking staff❤️
