It's been a while, but we're back with 🩻 Today we have a hip with a history. Unfortunately hip and knee replacements don't last forever, so if you get one on the young side, you will probably have to go in for revisions. This patient looks to be on the second (or maybe 3rd) revision of an initial hip replacement. The fracture of the bone is likely not new, but it's been tied down and secured so it's not going anywhere.

We had a great time at the Pipeline to Progress: Building the Healthcare Workforce conference put on by the Ashland Chamber of Commerce! 👩‍🔬

It is always so fulfilling to be in a room of likeminded people working towards making our region stronger! Dr Shereef Elnahal, the OHSU President, gave a wonderful keynote and prompted thoughtful questions and discussion. Our own CEO Brent was on a panel to discuss career pathways, and show the mission of building a healthcare workforce in action!

CEO Brent was on the road to the Urgent Care Congress in Las Vegas, where he gave a talk on expanding from urgent care to specialty care, such as dermatology, orthopedics, and occupational health. What a great opportunity to get together and learn and share with other top urgent care centers, and businesses supporting urgent cares, from around the country!

All clinics will be closed at 6 on Christmas Eve, and South Medford and Grants Pass are open 10-4 on Christmas Day. All clinics will be open at normal on the 26th.

Career Highlight tours are one of our favorite things to do at Valley Immediate Care 👩‍🔬 Last week, students from Gladiola High School got to try their hand at splinting, suturing, and x-ray, as well as tour the clinic and talk with providers, MAs, and receptionists about what the exciting world of urgent care is like! 🩺 It is so much fun to get to talk with these amazing students, and let them explore the opportunities in healthcare! 🩻

The STEM Hub helped launch the Bus Project in 2021. Then through the Team Oregon Build Initiative, partnership with Valley Immediate Care and support from Jackson Care Connect, Justin Eagar and his students at The Innovation Academy are building out a 'Mobile Medical Bus'.
