If you're a social worker who recently passed your LSW exam and now you're ready to start clinical supervision towards an LCSW in Pennsylvania, I would love to support you.

I am currently accepting 6 clinical supervisees for weekly group supervision

and in less than 3 minutes, you can apply for one of those available spots >> https://inrealtimewellness.com/apply

Here's a few things that you should know before you hit submit on your application...

✅ You’ll receive 1 hour of weekly group supervision on Tuesdays from 5-6pm | First day will be in-person on Tuesday, August 1, 2023

All the details you need to know about how much you can expect to financially invest for weekly group clinical supervision can be found on the application.

✅ We’ll meet virtually 3x/month & in-person 1x/month in Center City Philadelphia - 901 Market Street (accessible via SEPTA's Regional Rail, Market Frankford Line & walking distance to the City Hall Station of the Broad Street Line)

✅ In addition to deepening your clinical skills, if you want to start a private practice one day, I’ll guide you through it.

You can check out my business podcast "Beyond the Session with Aisha" to get a sneak peek of what that looks like

✅ If you complete 50% to 100% of your clinical hours with me, you’ll receive a stipend for Test Prep Material.

Inside of my previous cohort, 100% of my supervisees that received a Test Prep Material stipend passed their LCSW exam on their first attempt! 🎉

Here’s what you need to know about my clinical lens:

⭐ I specialize in treating anxiety & anxiety-fueled anger for socially conscious & creative human beings

️⭐ I’m trained as a medical social worker - so I believe that the connection between the mind & body both have to be tended to throughout the therapeutic relationship with your clients.

I love working with medical social workers because they are often told their role is not "clinical enough" to pursue an LCSW, which couldn't be further from the truth. 🙂

️ ⭐My clinical work is informed by the principles of decolonization (aka eliminating systems of oppression from society), the Eastern-Definition of mindfulness (not DBT bc there’s a difference), integrative treatment planning (just say no cookie-cutter treatment plans), narrative therapy, & attachment theory

You're invited to apply for 1 of the 6 available spots for clinical group supervision today!

https://inrealtimewellness.com/apply

----
Don't wait to apply bc spots are available on a first come, first serve basis.

Once this cohort is filled, spots won't open back up for at least another 2 years.

Advocacy is Su***de Prevention.

What Does that look like?

>> Advocating for the Rights of Others.

>> Contacting your elected officials.

>> Voicing your concerns about policies (even if they don’t impact you directly).

If a regulation, law, or memorandum, is negatively impacting
the health and well-being of others.

By virtue of you using your voice to uplift the silenced, THIS is an act of su***de prevention!

If you’re out of the loop about what’s happening, this is your invitation to…

Wishing your friends and family understood what anxiety was all about?🤔

🎉Look no further! 🎉

Anxiety 101 : An Educational Support Group for Friends & Family is a 4-week virtual group that will leave them feeling more knowledgeable about anxiety so that they can be more supportive of you as you continue your journey towards anxiety relief.

In 4-weeks, we'll cover:

✨ What’s Anxiety? – The science behind anxiety, its function and purpose, as well as how it can be safely managed.

✨ Communication Skills – Review some of the most frequent communication challenges that occur between two (or more) people when one person is experiencing anxiety in an intense way and the others are "just trying to help".

✨ Strategies – We’ll breakdown tangible steps on how to productively offer support without accidently making things worse.

Group members will have an opportunity to share with each other —to their comfort level, their experiences and receive compassionate support in a virtual community setting.

🧠The intention of this educational support group is to deliver on my promise and dedication to destigmatize seeking support and treatment for our mental health.

We all deserve support, so why not give your loved one any extra boost when all they want is for you to live your life with a little more relief.

💻Group starts on June 8th - click the link in my bio to grab a virtual seat today!

What would it look like if you felt confident enough to share that you go to therapy?

I get it.

We've certainly come a long way in the past few years.

And bc of the pandemic, more people are seeking therapy now, more than ever.

But there are still so many folx that keep therapy

a 'dirty little secret'🤫

Why?

Because for many, it still doesn't feel safe enough to talk about feelings & emotions.

Because for many, therapy is still seen as something that only 'crazy' ppl do.

Because for many, the saying "I want to take a mental health day", is interpreted as "you don't have what it takes to handle life.

My hope, wish, dream, and desire is that ONE DAY...

Everyone will feel safe enough to talk about what's on their mind and their heart without the fear of being rejected and judged.

Everyone will talk about going to therapy with the same enthusiasm that we talk about going to Target.

Bc therapy can be a place where you laugh and cry, reflect and respond, process the highlights and the lowlights of life.

I hope that one day...

EVERYONE will have a chance to access high-quality therapy regardless of their socioeconomic status.

If you have the same hope, wish, desire, and dream - to destigmatize mental health -

1️⃣ Tag another mental health advocate

2️⃣ Share a mental health resource.

3️⃣ Reach out to someone you care about & ask them how they are doing and model for them what it looks like to share your thoughts, feelings, and emotions.

The more we talk about mental health, the better our world will be.

Finally! We have JUSTICE for George!

Let's continue to advocate for the countless others who have lost their lives through senseless & intentional acts of violence.

Our work towards building a more just, safe, and tolerant society isn't done.

Thank you for your stunning artwork.

Make space for your grief, so that your self-love can shine through. ❤️🌞

If you deny yourself the opportunity to embrace your feelings of grief, you're denying your own humanity.

It's never a bad time to be kind to your mind🧠➕❤️

Taking the time to take care of yourself is vital.

If you're feeling overwhelmed by the ebbs & flows of life,
one way to make things more manageable is to treat yourself with kindness, love, and compassion.

Anxiety is soooo ✨EASY✨ to treat...

⬆️THIS is an example of a narrow-minded & oppressive perspective towards the treatment of anxiety.

Statements and mindsets like these actually stigmatize mental health treatment and reduce the likelihood that someone will reach out for support.

As an advocate of decolonizing institutions, I think it's time for clinicians to hold up a big mirror to therapeutic approaches and ask...

"How can I do better?"

If you're a clinician that's ready to:

⭐have your biases challenged

⭐push against the status quo

⭐work towards dismantling oppressive treatment of anxiety

⭐learn in a supportive & inclusive environment

How much pressure are you putting on yourself to be productive? ☕

Instead of consuming another dose of "I'm not good enough".

Recharge with a fresh cup of self-love.

Showing up for others is not only an act of love, it's an act of service. ❤️

The elegant words and beautiful artistry of truly embodies the essence of Martin Luther King Day and the National Day of Service.
・・・
Love is showing up. As said, “Tell your friends to pull up.” Pull up for your friends. Pull up for people you don’t know. Show up for humanity.

If you have any kind of privilege, use to it to amplify those who have been marginalized.

Use it to elevate those who have been oppressed. And speak up for those who can’t.

Listen, learn, and act. Just know that in order to effect change, we have to do it together.

Just because it doesn’t affect you, doesn’t mean you should sit this out.

We have to lose the idea that we have to do everything by ourselves.

We are a community, and we are here for one another.

And remember that if you choose to sit on the sidelines, your silence, your absence, speaks volumes.

Together, we show up.

Together, we take apart the system a meant to keep us from being seen.

Together, we rebuild for each other.

Even though, the world is chaotic, it's still okay to feel ALL your feelings.

Let's stop undermining your existence in the same way that systems of oppression continue to do...

Over

You deserve to be treated better than that.

How do you manage anxiety when your fears are based in reality?

Maintaining physical & emotional safety in the presence of a perceived threat is complicated - especially for marginalized communities.

It's okay to feel afraid.

AND

Two things you don't want to do is use:

toxic positivity 💀 & gaslighting 🔥to sweep🧹 your feelings under the rug.

It was an isolated incident - it wasn't.🥺

This was different - in so many ways.😓

It won't happen again - it could.🧐

It was a protest - really?!🤬

No one lives on DC - yes, they do.😐

Well, you don't live in DC - that's not the point.🙄

If and when you hear these statements coming from you or from someone else, please know that THIS is not helpful.

If what you witnessed yesterday left you feeling disturbed, don't dismiss that.

You deserve to be heard & to feel safe. ❤️

If you feel unheard or unsafe, don't hesitate to reach out to my friends - they're 24/7/365 📱

You are enough.

You are enough.

You are enough.

The next time you have a mirror upon you...

Look yourself in the eye

Take a nice inhale

And proclaim it

From the bottom of your heart & soul

"I AM ENOUGH!"

✨'Faking It 'Til You Make It' Manifests Imposter Syndrome✨

Ouch.

Was that too real?! 😎

You’re not doing yourself (or anyone for that matter) any favors by phoning it in.

Now, I’m not claiming that it’s easy to release the bind of putting on a happy face for the sake of human kind (or your ego).

Because it’s not!

Many of us, especially disenfranchised communities are ⭐EXPECTED ⭐ to put on a front to appease society at-large; this is done for many reasons beyond making others feel comfortable in our presence.

This façade exacerbates the self-loathing that comes with Imposter Syndrome, it also breeds resentment for those that don’t play along.

So, let’s stop the charade.

Are you wondering what happens when...

People stop being polite & start getting real?

No.

You don’t get your own reality show with 7 strangers.

You actually enter into the possibility of feeling more confident and more at ease with being imperfectly you.🙃

If you’re interested in boosting yourself out of Imposter Syndrome – click the link in my bio and subscribe to my weekly dose of reality checks.
