Another chef has been announced-we hope to see you there! August 2n, 9am-3pm on Jefferson and Lake Streets.

It’s time to meet another local chef participating in “Rooted”, the Medical Lake Farmers Market’s “farmers market-to-table-cooking challenge”, part of our 3rd annual “National Farmers Market Week” Celebration!

Today’s Chef Profile is on Wyatt Campbell, chef and owner of Vern's Cafe and VernCooks Hotdog Carts and Catering!

Chef Wyatt has been cooking professionally for 15 years, having started as a prep cook at the Marriott in Redmond. Inspired by watching his mother in the kitchen growing up, he has always wanted to be a chef.

Wyatt’s favorite type of food to cook is open fire cooking, with whole cuts of meats and seasonal vegetables, and he loves the community and joy built around food.

You will learn more about Chef Wyatt in the coming days, and you will have a chance to meet him in person at “Rooted” on Saturday, August 2. But we don’t want you to just come for “Rooted”-we have a full day planned, starting with the Medical Lake Farmers Market from 9am-3pm and our FREE “Kids Kitchen”, an interactive culinary experience, from 10am-12pm, operated by Cela's Creative Learning Academy.

At the Medical Lake Farmers Market, we are passionate about connecting our community with the incredible local farmers and food producers we proudly represent.

Five local chefs will bring their inspired submissions using ingredients sourced from the Medical Lake Farmers Market farmers and food producers in sample format for the judges and audience to enjoy, while supplies last. The judges and the people will decide who wins.

Join us Saturday, August 2 for “Rooted”, part of our “National Farmers Market Week Celebration”. Our market is open from 9am-3pm, the “Kids Kitchen” is open from 10am-12pm, and “Rooted” is from 12pm-3pm.

It’s time to meet another wonderful local chef for “Rooted”, the Medical Lake Farmers Market’s “farmers market-to-table-cooking challenge”, part of our 3rd annual “National Farmers Market Week” Celebration!

Today’s Chef Profile is on McKenzie DonTigny, owner and operator of Billie's Diner in Airway Heights. Billie’s is a “farmer-first American diner serving breakfast and lunch, Billie’s celebrates the best of the Inland Northwest by sourcing 75% of ingredients from local farmers.” They are located at 13008 W. Sunset Hwy..

McKenzie told us if she could cook anywhere in the world, it would be in her own kitchen. “Cooking for my family is my favorite thing to do - plus, if I’m in my own kitchen, I know where everything is!” McKenzie believes food is universal and “no matter where you are in the world, people come together to share a meal. It connects us to each other, but it also connects us back to the earth and can reconnect us with ourselves.”

We will share more about McKenzie in the coming days, and you will have a chance to meet her in person at “Rooted” on Saturday, August 2. If you have not already registered to participate in the “Market Bucks,” program. You still can. There are only a few criteria.

#2 Provide two pieces of information that will verify your 99022 address. License, registration, utility bill.

Sign up at our Reimagine Medical Lake booth. Receive $25 to shop with various food vendors at our market.

There was a Car Show last night at the Linger at the Lake Concert Series
How many of you guys had a chance to come to the park?
The music was amazing!
The cars belong to Gene Bolt and Stan Johnson. These two Veterans were both enjoying the beautiful weather and sharing their love for cars. We were lucky to see a whole line of cars.
