It’s time to meet another local chef participating in “Rooted”, the Medical Lake Farmers Market’s “farmers market-to-table-cooking challenge”, part of our 3rd annual “National Farmers Market Week” Celebration!
Today’s Chef Profile is on Wyatt Campbell, chef and owner of Vern's Cafe and VernCooks Hotdog Carts and Catering!
Chef Wyatt has been cooking professionally for 15 years, having started as a prep cook at the Marriott in Redmond. Inspired by watching his mother in the kitchen growing up, he has always wanted to be a chef.
Wyatt’s favorite type of food to cook is open fire cooking, with whole cuts of meats and seasonal vegetables, and he loves the community and joy built around food.
You will learn more about Chef Wyatt in the coming days, and you will have a chance to meet him in person at “Rooted” on Saturday, August 2. But we don’t want you to just come for “Rooted”-we have a full day planned, starting with the Medical Lake Farmers Market from 9am-3pm and our FREE “Kids Kitchen”, an interactive culinary experience, from 10am-12pm, operated by Cela's Creative Learning Academy.

Five local chefs will bring their inspired submissions using ingredients sourced from the Medical Lake Farmers Market farmers and food producers in sample format for the judges and audience to enjoy, while supplies last. The judges and the people will decide who wins.
Join us Saturday, August 2 for “Rooted”, part of our “National Farmers Market Week Celebration”. Our market is open from 9am-3pm, the “Kids Kitchen” is open from 10am-12pm, and “Rooted” is from 12pm-3pm.
