Reminder, with these weather snaps to keep a close eye on your fur family. I suggest adding salt to grain to help increase water intake. Also, a prebiotic and prebiotic is a great tool to have on hand during this time, to keep their gut happy. They take care of us so be sure to take care of them!

Just because the weather is cooler and alot of people's competition seasons are winding down, doesn't mean your horse doesn't still need care. Derby has been a regular client since I became a massage therapist. His personality and condition overall has improved greatly from where we 1st started. Regular bodywork has an endless amount of benefits for your Equine partners. Remember to take care of the horses the way they take care of you! Please reach out to schedule your massage session. I hear more and more people discussing hay and how much or how little to feed. This is great and helpful information! Right away this states this is just calculated for a hay diet, with no pasture or grain, so adjustments would possibly be needed. Always reach out to a nutritionist if you're never 100% sure on your horses needs.

Be smart when Working those horses in this heat! Here is some great information on temp and humidity and how it effects your horses cooling abilities. Also added at the bottom is GREAT information about utilizing boots/ wraps. Stay safe, stay cool ❄️

KT tape has not been something I use regularly in my practice. However, recently alot of horses are getting back to work and are getting sore throughout their back. Even with no tack changes and never having these issues in previous years. I received this photo update this morning from a clients horse that I had worked on last night. He is a mouthy gelding and the owners weren't very confident that the tape would survive the night. Well, let me tell you, it's still on almost 24hrs later and he is feeling much better. I love helping horses feel their best and educating owners on different things that they can do to help their horses feel and perform their best! Better late than never. I always love getting to see the change in horses from one day to the next. Getting to help horses feel their best before, during or after a competition is always something I'm happy to help owners with. Kennedys horse Cowboy was sore after arriving the the shoot Friday night, with help from another equine bodywork therapist and myself they were able to lay down amazing runs and end the weekend pulling a check. Cole and Caitlin both asked me to work on Cash Saturday night, as he ran all day and was going to pull double duty Sunday. He carried them both well and helped to bring home some money as well!
