Dry needling? Acupuncture? Let’s clear up the confusion! 🤔❓❓
At Shine Acupuncture and Wellness, we describe dry needling as something that most acupuncturists do in addition to the more traditional therapy.
Dry needling targets trigger points and areas of tension, while acupuncture is a traditional practice aimed at balancing the body's energy flow (Qi) to address both physical and emotional health. Although they may look similar, the theories behind them are quite different.
It’s important to note that acupuncturists complete over 2,000 hours of training in various needling techniques, including dry needling, to treat a wide range of conditions. Chiropractors typically have around 300 hours of needling training, and physical therapists may only take a weekend course (with no board exam)!
With our extensive training, acupuncturists are highly skilled in safely using needles to address various health concerns.
