Congratulations to Mark on completing his rehabilitation program with us! 🎉

Mark came to us for physical therapy after a bout with pneumonia, unable to walk or wheel himself in a wheelchair. He shared, "After my hospital stay, I felt weak. My therapists were personable and encouraging. They challenged me to keep going! Today, I feel strong and am so grateful I can walk again!" 🚶‍♂️‍➡️

🩷 Congratulations to our Speech Therapist, Kayla, on the arrival of her new baby, Tatum Ostrowski! Born 2/1 at 8:15. We think she is sooo precious! 🥰

💛💚💜 Fat Tuesday, Mardi Gras, was so much fun! We had paczkis for everyone in the morning, and we had a huge pancake bar for associates and residents with music by Pete! Let the good times roll! ⚜️

❤️ Life Care Center of Medina held the monthly Senior Network meeting in February! We had an amazing turnout with a delicious breakfast spread and wonderful giveaway baskets. 🤝 We appreciate all of our community organizations that join us in caring for the seniors in our wider area.

❤️ Valentine's Day was extra-special at Life Care Center of Medina this year! Lillian Ortiz, an amazing lady from the community, made over 100 handmade scarves and donated them to us for our residents and staff!🧣

We passed them all out on Valentine's Day with macaroons, and everyone loved them! We appreciate her so much! 🥰

⭐ What can Rehab do? You might be surprised...

When Ronnie, one of our long-term care residents, experienced a health emergency, he and his family weren't sure what he would be able to do. The setback had left him dependent for all mobility and self-care tasks. He also had trouble swallowing.

His wife shared, 💬 "Ronnie had taken a turn for the worse, and hospice needed to be called in. Something in my gut kept telling me to hold off and let him continue rehab. Within weeks, the staff had Ronnie up, walking and feeding himself. It was like a miracle had happened!" 💗

Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapists didn't give up on Ronnie, and by the end of his therapy program, he had returned to his prior level of function before his medical setback. He was once again independent with walking, completing transfers, and feeding himself. Most importantly, he regained his confidence and was truly back to his smiling self! 😁

🧊 The 32nd Annual Medina Ice Festival was this weekend! 💙 Events included speed carving, individual ice carving competition, fire & ice tower, and team ice carving competition. Life Care Center of Medina is proud to have been a sponsor of the Richard Alford Single Block Ice Competition. There were some pretty amazing ice creations this year! ❄️

⭐ "My experience at Life Care Center of Medina was life-changing. The therapists helped me get out of my shell. I was pushed and encouraged to do my best. I liked the vestibular rehab with OT!" ~ Penelope

Congratulations to Penelope for completing her rehabilitation program with us! 🎉 When she started physical, occupational, and speech therapies, she was unable to walk and needed assistance for mobility and self-care tasks like hygiene and dressing, as well as speaking. Now, she is caring for herself independently and able to walk and get around with a walker. We are so proud of her for her hard work and progress! 👏
