We loved seeing therapeutic riding featured on CBS Sunday Morning—such a beautifully done piece that really captures the heart of this work.

What stood out most is how clearly it shows the connection, growth, and quiet transformation that happens in these spaces. It’s powerful to see that story shared on a national stage.

For us, this isn’t just something we watch—it’s something we have the privilege of witnessing every single day. We see the confidence built, the breakthroughs (big and small), and the incredible bonds between riders and horses.

We’re so grateful this work is getting the recognition it deserves.

Horses draw people into their orbit.

5,000 to 6,000 years of shared history is a powerful thing. Even if you’ve never touched a horse in your lifetime, the soul remembers. The yearning to connect is embedded in our DNA.

All of us at We Can Ride would like to open the barn doors to you. We have welcomed corporate groups, school and church groups, women’s groups, groups of people in recovery…come as you are, and experience the magic of the horse.

We are now booking for summer groups. Interested? Questions? Contact Client Engagement Coordinator Mary at clients@wecanride.org.

Got a minute to vote for We Can Ride?

Old National is pleased to launch our “Choose Your Charity” campaign to celebrate our growth in the Upper Midwest (MN, ND and Western WI). We will be giving a total of $265,000 to 96 area 501(c)(3) organizations and the winners will be chosen based on voting from the local communities.

Voting runs April 13-25 and anyone 18 or older (except ONB team members) can cast a vote in support of their favorite charity. At the end of the campaign, all votes will be tallied and the top vote-getting charity from each banking center will receive $2,500. The top overall winner will receive an additional $25,000.

Every single day, without fail, for 44 years, We Can Ride's volunteers have shown up.

From doing barn chores during Minnesota snowstorms to keeping a child with a seizure disorder safe in the saddle, to guiding the hands of a person with dementia and everything in-between, they are there.

They are a diverse group of folks with diverse histories, but one thing binds them together...their motivation to serve.

This week we celebrate the best "breed" there is - the We Can Ride volunteer.

Thanks for making the magic happen, friends!

Vote for Mary Hurley!

We are so proud to celebrate one of our incredible We Can Ride client parents who has been nominated for a Supermom Award! Mary Hurley, AKA "Daisy's mom" is up for this well-deserved recognition. The award also comes with a cash prize, which would go a long way in helping the family's medical expenses.

Every day, our clients and their families move through a world that doesn’t always make space for differences. And yet, they show up—with courage, determination, and unwavering love. They advocate, they adapt, and they keep going, even when the path isn’t easy.

This amazing mom embodies all of that and more. Her strength, patience, and resilience inspire everyone around her. She reminds us that being a “supermom” isn’t about perfection—it’s about showing up, lifting others up, and creating possibility where there wasn’t before.

To all of our We Can Ride families: we see you, we celebrate you, and we are honored to be part of your journey. 💫
Let’s cheer her on! 👏

April is Autism Acceptance Month 💙

This month—and every month—we celebrate neurodiversity and the beautiful ways people experience, think, and connect with the world.

Creating spaces of true belonging means more than awareness. It means building environments where everyone can come exactly as they are—without masking, without pressure—just being themselves.

It means fostering places where people can connect, explore, and be valued not in spite of their differences, but because of them.

Let’s listen more, include more, and honor every voice. Because when we embrace neurodiversity, we create a world that is richer, kinder, and more human for all.

Tickets are now on sale for Unlabeled Theatre Company's production of Once Upon a Mattress!

If you attended the Diamonds and Denim benefit, you heard all about this amazing theatre company from executive director Chris Moquist.

If you haven't heard about it, get ready to be introduced to something truly unique, creative, and transformative.

Almost every role at Unlabeled is performed as a partnership. An artist with a cognitive and/or physical disability or who is neurodivergent is paired with a shadow partner. No one person in this partnership is better than the other. No one is “in charge” of anyone. The shadow partner’s job is to amplify the skills and talents of the artist as they create each role – together.

The result? A theatre experience like no other.
